We've been poor/averae since December/Beginning Jan 2011, the stand out's for our downfall are Holden's injury v United, the Semi Final humiliation and the way we ended last season, this season has just been an absolute joke, how Coyle is still in charge is a mystery.

 

I thought he was a god when we played out of this world football between August-Decemeber 2010, and even though our form dipped, we had Sturridge to get us points and we also had the good cup run, injuries to our best players haven't helped, we ended the season with 5 losses and carried that on to this season, with only rare wins here and there.

 

If we could go back to 0-0 v United with S.Holden not maimed, it would be cool.

I think he's been building up to it from day one:

 

The first half season we won against the likes of Burnley, then not again for nearly 2 months v Wolves our only win in the February, Into March we got the obligatory 3 points off WHU and the now lamented 3 point guaranteed from Wigan.

 

Nothing really changes, get nothing from the big boys and scrape by against those around you. Wins against Stoke and Brum finished the season with 6 wins from his 19 games in charge. Already relegation form.

 

He was never any better than Megson other than the fact that a lot of us had seen him play and he was important enough to have a song from his playing days. All that said to the Yoof was that he must be a former legend and therefore ought not to suffer the same fate as Megson had done almost before he'd even started with us.

quite recent for me, like owen and still wish he'd turn it round, may be its blind faith after the previous depressing regime. think it was the swansea game when we had been away for a weeks warm weather training, i'd hoped he would have spent the week sorting things out, but it was the same inept tactics against the swans..

it was at the same time that I became aware of his constant referral to the sponsors name every single time he mentioned what league we were in/wanted to be in at the end of the season*

Can't pinpoint the exact time but i've become more and more annoyed at the number of times we've conceeded 2 quick goals or played ok for 45 mins then let a goal in pretty much straight after the re-start.

 

I think Liverpool away in August was probably the time I thought this was going to be a long hard season - we were diabolical in that game

out of all the results this season that has got to be the worst.

Last summer when he started signing Champioship dross.

Sunderland at home for me. We'd won at Wigan after a disastrous start to this season. The Mackems were battering us at 0-0 yet he was waving everyone forward rather than defend, take the point and maintain some form of unbeaten run/confidence. Needless to say, they scored a la Spurs' second t'other week.

Chelsea at home was when I first had very serious concerns. Wigan at home put any doubts I had well and truly to bed.

Personally I had the conversation with my mate at half time Chelsea at home 4 nil down, from then it's glaringly obvious..

When we got out fought and out played by Norwich at home we've had repeated reminders of mid-table teams handing us our arse on a plate throughout the season BUT I'm still struggling to see any replacements out there whos appointment wouldn't be quickly followed with a huge groan of oh Jesus not him

There was always a niggling doubt, but when anything went right you put it to the back of your mind. When something went wrong these doubts come back bigger and doubtier than ever. From there it was a slow realisation.

Wembley. Arrogantly and naively assumed Stoke would enter into a nice tippy tappy football match because it was there, so picked completely the wrong team and totally ill prepared them for Stoke turning up and being themselves.

Newcastle home was this season's day of confirmation, tactical naivety in the extreme, causing us to snatch defeat from the jaws of a likely 1-0 victory
