Good point our team was fucking gutless last year whether coyle fucked up or not they were the easiest bolton team to roll over I've seen in 20 years - coyle knew that to, it doesnt excuse some of his shite decisions but I think he knew this year would be telling if the chips went down early on - thats why I fear for us a bit next year we're still short of some proper character in our squad for example and I'm talking character not necessarily ability - compare a Rioch side versus coyles

 

Bogdan v Branagan - both quiet really but Branagan demanded respect due to performances Bogdan still gets mothered in games

Brown v Riley Mears - Brown big character riley mears nowt

Stubbs v Ream - Stubbs big character future captain of every club he's been at Ream says nowt

Bergsson v Wheater - Bergsson proper skipper lead by example

Phillips v Ricketts - to be fair similar both seem seemed to say bog all

Thommo v Petrov - Thommo larger than life shall we say petrov sulky twat

Kelly v Holden - Kelly massive character Holden maybe he demands respect

McAteer v Mavies - McAteer big character again mavies fuck all

Green v Chungy - Green queitish chungy hardly demanding performances from his team mates

McGinlay v Ngog - Nuff said

Walker v Sordell - Nuff said

 

We've got next to no character or characters in our current squad if we start slow next year we'll be riding the titanic again I tell you and you could do this excercise with any allardyce squad we've always had big characters at the club which drag along some of the lesser lights with Jussi & NRC both now gone we've not got any

I did say I was talking chracter not ability I'm not for one second suggesting the rioch years had better plays just more character which is what we are sadly lacking now by the bucket load - that is is surely a valid point

Our team today are light years ahead in terms of technical ability. That's what exposes the other areas of their game. Aside from one or two they collectively have the heart of a bag of frozen peas, none moreso than Eagles.
