Went to Morecambe, mainly to tick off the new ground. It's good to win, but it was still a long way from a full- blooded game, so the result meant as little as the earlier poor results.

 

Individually nobody was that bad, but as a unit the defence was quite shaky...Morecambe hit the post twice & Bogdan saved a 1 on 1 in the first half, & the defending from corners & set pieces is still a mess.

 

Going forward, both goals were well made & well taken & we played some bits of good football.

 

The new players, Wylde put in some good crosses but is probably a bit behind Petrov at the moment & Andrews was calm & steady without doing anything fancy.

 

The youngsters, Vela, Riley & O'Halloren were alright without standing out.

The defending has been shocking and the options up front extremely limited.

 

I'm worried about both, but whilst the kids could solve the former I am not all that sure we have the answers to the latter!

These results have to be used as a massive wake up call to the players and management. Anyone who thinks the championship is going to be a walk in the park is deluded. Hopefully it all clicks when we visit Burnley. Its going to have to or we are fucked.

Just a reminder - Holden won't be fit till at least October. And goodness knows how long he'll take to get match fit after 18 months out.

I've just read about that. At least there's progress as they were fighting with rival fans rather than bedsheeting.

Some of our fans are no better though as I saw a comment about it where one of ours called them "inbread". Spanner!
