The Most Unwelcome Towns You Have Been.

Featured Replies

A lad from L/H who went living in Shirebrook when Walkden Yard shut told me some great tales about that town, he said it was like going back to the seventies again.

He was being kind. :D

He got a transfer underground at my colliery and a house on Kenyon Way, only been back to his homeland a week before he got burgled, he said " Welcome Home "

Get yourself a little further to the darkside. Laneshawbridge & Cowling. They're local villages for local people.

In fact, come to think of it, most of my commute from home to work (CrossHills) was pretty grim in the 80s/90s.

Only if they will sell me rolls of patterned fleece, cheap, cash in hand and NO VAT

Went to Platt Bridge once for a pint on my own, i got looks off the locals if i was some kind of serial murderer, i only went in after getting some train numbers at the close by engine shed at Springs Branch.

Haverfordwest, Wales.

Broadhaven, Wales.

Bangor, Wales.

Wrexham, Wales.

St. Davids, Wales.

Pretty much anywhere in Wales really...

Disagree about Madrid, folk were probably arsey due to a flock of pissed up Boltonians descending on 'em.

Been loads of times and found it to be fairly friendly for a capital city. If you've a smattering of Romanian even the prozzies are quite personable when attempting to pickpocket you.

One of the various Museum of Ham(s) are cracking for a slap up feed with wine and everything for about £15.

Cracking places, those Museo de jamon.

Ideal for a quick lunch too: a cheese & chorizo sandwich, can of lager and a piece of fruit for about £2.

Just had a week in several towns around North Wales and was treated with respect and good manners everywhere we went.

Perhaps it's just me ;)

Dove Holes.

My a distance.

Bangor Wales. Went for a mates wedding. First local we went into were singing "we'll burn your English houses down" on kar e oke and after every song would burst out into "City 'till I die" rendition.

Needless to say they saw plenty of BWFC and ENgland tats on out lads and it turned into a war zone.

We were getting the upper hand untill the locals from all the surrounding pubs got wind that it was England v Wales and started to pour in. Bar stools. Pool cues, ash trays, Snooker balls and various trophys being used to give the welsh cunts a good seeing to.

When the cops turned up they only started on the English lads which spurred us on even more!

We all got taken away and the van was chased and bricked in and we are banned from ever setting foot in that shit hole ever again.

Had to wait the best part of 7 hours with the plod surrounding us at the station for a train back home as there was no way they would put us anywhere with any welsh folk.

Never even made it into the church!

Once you cross that bridge it's like going back 30 years

Though it's my favourite place in the world there are a couple of pubs in Belfast I'm in no rush to get back to. Another vote for Kilmarnock here but overall never had real dramas anywhere and I've been about a fair bit.

Oh, forgot the Flemish Weaver with smiffs years ago. Seemed a good idea at the time.

Plovdiv went into a bar there with Zozzy tours and it looked like a photo gallery of serbian war criminals

The one in Salford? If so, how much had you drunk for that to have been a good idea..?

A lot. As I recall we were on Salford Crescent station with 8 minutes to wait for our train. And smiffs had yedwarch so we squeezed a pint in.

Me and a mate took £50 off two blokes playing pool for cash in there once.

We nearly died.

I was that pissed I was sick in my bag on the (packed) bus home.

Same here, i got punched from behind whilst i was on crutches and in plaster up to my nuts. It was the game SJM scored that late scrambled winner.
