August 18, 201214 yr I'm not the type for knee jerk reactions, but today was utterly woeful. It's one thing being outplayed by better players (which Burnley do NOT have) but being outfought is unforgivable. And that is very much what coyle is paid to hammer into them.

Although I agree last season was poor, very poor - we did have some bad luck with injuries, etc... not that that is to blame though. I just think that this time last year we were top of the prem having won 4-0 and got relegated.... there is a long long way to go.

August 18, 201214 yr I'm going to put my bollocks on the chopping block and say I'm giving him 6 more days. 3 games seems reasonable. I wasn't demanding a statue be built in his honour this time last year and I'm not calling for his head quite yet. However, that may change very soon.

COYWM I agree ............... but only up to a point. I knew Burnley would be up for this game; I bet most other Whites fans would have known that; how the fook could the team NOT expect that ? Last season, the indications were that we were weak physically and not that fit. The question now is - does it look as if OC is ironing out last season's problems ? We're only one game in; it'll be 8 games or so before things start to settle down. Too early to panic, but we should be seeing signs of improvement. Sounds like there were none today. August 18, 201214 yr Just picked up where we left off last season. We need a big reaction and quickly. If there is no improvement after our first 5 games we should be showing him the door. We only get one shot at this, otherwise we could be looking at a miserable decade or so at least. After 2 years, I still don't understand the direction Coyle is trying to take us in football wise. There doesn't seem to be any drive towards a certain style or mentality. We need some players who are hungry for success, and I don't see that in our squad....

August 18, 201214 yr From what I saw today nothing has changed from last season. We are shocking at defending, our central midfield is non existent and nothing links up front. We play well down the flanks but with zip all end product.
