Pablo Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Liverpool have paid Joe Cole £3 million to leave them. also Liverpool will pay £50k a week to him, for the full period of his West Ham contract (18 months), West Hame will only pay him £35k a week. Quote

Sweep Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) I would have thought the £3M pay off was for complete cancellation of the contract, meaning that Liverpool could wash their hands of him altogether........but I really do hope that they do in fact have to keep paying for him for the next 18 months Edited January 4, 2013 by CWP Quote
Sweep Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 He has cost them £21 million!!!! That might end up being small money compared to what Carroll is going to end up costing them?.....there is no way they're getting more than £15M for him if/when they decide to cut their losses, and I presume they'r ehaving to subsidise his West Ham wage as well at present Quote
Pablo Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Yes, 75% of his wages, while he is injured. If he plays a certain amount of games West Ham have agreed a £17 Million fee for him. But injured or "out of form" I sense he wont meet that target. Then prob another Loan deal to Newcastle next season, resulting in 12 months left on his LFC contract, which will mean a tiny fee. While it is funny they spend sooo much money, its depressing that my club aint got 2 pennies to rub together. Quote
Zico Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 it all sounds very Leeds United this am guessing liverpool's money currently comes from them being a big global brand and selling loads of shirts in asia as opposed to them actually winning/earning it from PL / CL finishes? Quote
Pablo Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 They are the biggest average team in the world, and have income we can only dream of. Cunts. Quote
Sweep Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 am guessing liverpool's money currently comes from them being a big global brand and selling loads of shirts in asia as opposed to them actually winning/earning it from PL / CL finishes? I think that's it, the money they generate "off shore" probably far outweighs anything they generate domestically. Even though they've not been a massive success of late, they're still massive around the globe. The cunts. Quote
Garrp Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 My favourite story about the scouse cunts is the one where they had the choice between Jordan Henderson and Mario Gotze for the same price. Quote

The same Jordan Henderson, that Steve Bruce told his Chairman he thinks is a sellable asset, and could get as much as £4 million for him!!!! Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Barnsley's Davies is a done deal from what I've been told. To paraphrase the Barsley mole "He'll score goals for you but he's a nob!" Quote
Sweep Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 To paraphrase the Barsley mole "He'll score goals for you but he's a nob!" I'll take that, becuase at present it seems we have a nob (Sordell) who isn't scoring goals Quote

no balls Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I'll take that, becuase at present it seems we have a nob (Sordell) who isn't scoring goals What kind of a nob is he? If he's just your common or garden nobber then I don't see an issue. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Apparently his nobishness is an easy come easy go attitiude; tends to do what he wants, when he wants. Like you've said, score the goals.... no problem Quote
bolton va va Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Looking at the Barnsley forum, it's a bit worrying that they don't seem very bothered about Davies leaving them....quite similar to the Watford fans' attitude to losing Sordell. Dougie did pick up that Murray to Palace from Brighton though, and he wasn't highly rated but has done well. I think it took a while before Murray got going at Palace so we may have to be patient with Davies if he comes. Quote
