I think you didn't grasp what I meant in my post.

 

 

 

The actual idea of a payday loan that stops you going overdrawn or means you can pay a bill that comes in is fine. I do not know anyone who at some pont has not been skint a couple of days before pay day.

 

There are rules on lending that these companies ignore, then there are punitive penalties for minor errors or delays in repayment. The companies business models are built on people missing payments and getting hammered as a result. This is all hidden away in the small print. The fact is that people using these services do not understand what they are signing up to. The law states that everything must be clear and easy to understand. It is not.

 

There will always be people who no matter what you do that will end up in a mess but unfair to tar everyone with same brush. Just read some of the real stories in the press on this. Remember we are in a world wide recession prompted by bad lending, just because these people are only lending a few quid to people does not make it any less wrong.
