Winter/snow Watch 2013/14

Get your thermals on

Next month sees the start of severe weather hitting our glorious country and hopefully cutting Scotland adrift from us.

My mucker up there who works for the Met Office, says November will bring very bad snowfalls and possibly record low temperatures for that time of the year.

He was pretty accurate re the nce summer we had and is adamant this winter will be severe.

All goes back to the ''blockers'' he told me about early this year.

108 mph recorded somewhere apparently

Roughly 80 everywhere else

I'm going off piste and am currently sat in traffic trying to get over a little bridge in a village call Warburton?? Never fucking heard of it

It's the only road over the ship canal between the M6 and M60.

Definitely better than travelling through Warrington when Thelwall is closed.

Toll is 12p per trip - or 25p for a day pass!

The 16:55 Piccadilly to Euston left Wilmslow 170 minutes late. It's now due to leave Crewe at 20:15.

Crewe station was evacuated this evening?

Unmanned tonight, they could have cleaned up

Saying that folk with no change couldn't turn around as it was gridlocked both ways so they probably give up on it as a bad job

I think they usually stop charging when it's an emergency route. with the queues of motorists faffing about for 12p(!) it would become unmanageable.

That train as just reached Stafford 4 hours late.

Roof blew off.

A rather large section of our back fence has blown over crushing the lads footy goals. Pity it wasn't the rabbit hutch. Been out to check the rest of it, almost on a 45° angle now. Bugger. Might have to blame the builders and seeing as the show home fence is in the same state I might get somewhere with a bit of luck.

Looks like a bomb site on my road, bits of signage, traffic furniture and other debris all over the shop.

At the end of my road is the sea so all the shops down there took the full force.

Felt like yon fella in that bath in I am Legend at points last night.

Seems a bit quieter now,but forecasters say its coming back stronger on Friday.

Going to be a long couple of days...

Cracking the flags on the East Lancs Costas today.

Driving into town today was crazy, chimney stacks all over the prom, bus shelters ripped from the ground and blown into shop windows, lampposts blown over,a cherry picker on its side, window and gutters all blown to pieces.

Never known it as bad as that.

Coming twice as bad tomorrow with tornado levels of wind force apparently...

Calm as a latch now mind.

Meant to be climbing some big fuck off hill on the Lake District on Saturday...might have to reconvine...

I live in Cleveleys you spud

I wonder how many numbnuts will have been swept into the sea with their dogs by the end of the weekend?

Be careful if you do.  I've been up Helvellyn and around Langdale in April and it's been calm and bright sunshine when we set off but scarily dangerous at the top with no visibility.  I wouldn't risk it.

Old man of coniston is the task.

Supposed to be heading down kent Friday night for the weekend. What's the chances of me getting blown off on the way down?

Wall and side buliding collapsed at the side of the imperial hotel.

Looters been out in force in the Bronx.

An electrical shop window went through in the Bronx just off Dickson road, they even took the blokes kettle and toaster.

Is Dickson Road the one with all the 'gay friendly' b&b's on it with Funnygirls at the end?
