Just confused why the changes in defence last night?! Anyone know?

Tinkermen must tinker

that was frustrating because the guy who can pass the ball out the defence was stuck at full back and there seemed to be less service to medo and spearing as knight and mills didn't seem to get it down and play it to them

which seemed to lead to lots more hoofing out of defence into the middle,  not to the wings as there was no width, and they dealt with it

when we have 4-0-6 it was just coming straight back

What is the plan, do you think?

Sit back, soak up the pressure and hit em on the break, it seems.

So far worked in one out of eight. Churlish to enquire of a Plan B?

You can't ask a question like that your only a fan and don't know as much as the professionals.

Four candles

Four lorn state of affairs.

What I struggle with is the justification and acceptance of our position.

Also the praise heaped on mediocre opposition.

This is a team that were 2nd favourites pre season for promotion and similar the year before.

The club is massively underachieving.

Whether that's the players, the coaching or the management I have no idea.

What I do know is that something is clearly wrong at the club.

I also know that the buck stops with DF.

Fail to make the play-offs and he must go.

4 wins in 18

17 goals in 18 (9 of which in 4 games so 8 in the other 14 games)

1 home win this season.

We've only beat teams in and around us (well watford will be soon) It's dogshit and if we are honest we expected better. Dougie really needs to rethink the tactics at home because I can feel a Megson type atmosphere waiting to pour out. He's a patronising git and now needs the football to do the talking before the shit hits the fan.

Have you got a preference of which fan?

Can I proffer the cock that sits a few rows behind me? Can't wait to start booing, I shall be supping on Saturday........

I think Dougie is trying to make us more positive a home, with Moritz & Hall coming in last night. Trouble was, Moritz still looks well short of match fitness & Hall -though promising - isn't ready to start games yet.

With Eagles & N'Gog failing this season, Chungy inconsistant, Mark Davies & Holden injured, we've so many of our" creative" players not performing for various reasons, it makes selecting a more attacking  team for home games almost impossible  & has left us trying out different combinations......the same way our defence & away form were sorted out !

My main hope is in the return of Mark Davies , so it could take a while yet. Booooooo.

Please don't give reasons. He's clearly tinkering for the sake of it. </sarcasm>

me n you are generally on the same wavelength

if we don't have the creative players, then i'd prefer he didn't try too hard to come up with something - i'm sad he can't find a way of getting eagles on the pitch but maybe i read he was injured?

dunno about you, but i felt that he saw shifting ream to left back as an attacking move but it really wasn't as he didn't get forward and we lost his passing ability

it could of course just be that he felt the needed to rest one or two...generally we got away with it as the defence was decent enough

The defence was decent (apart from McNaughton)

Don't get why they're getting pilloried in some quarters?

are you suggesting that he doesn't?

they were alright but knight was in the team so they become dogshit

for me, ream struggled a bit, but like baptiste, he's filling in

mcnaughton wasn't great but he's generally ok so no lost sleep there

the problems are definitely further forward - i felt we missed lee (i know, i know) but then he came on and i thought about it again

and 4-0-6 is catspunk

Lee's been better recently IMO

Well 'til last night

N'Gog is the one I got most wrong. Sadly

He's a shadow of a shadow

What has Dougie done to him?

looks like he's got the makings of a good afro though

stop defending shit.  it's 1983 all over again, but this time the players are over payed tossers.

no one can defend the manager or the players.

WANKERS THE LOT OF THEM.

Spot on victor

They are the softest set of cunts I have ever seen in a white shirt

All gartsides fault

I think our defence is pretty secure ( my feeling was that Ream was moved ,because defensively he was very iffy at Boro & despite him being  reasonable on the ball, as a CH, first & foremost he needs to be able to defend ),Spearing & Medo are fine as ballwinners/defensive cover & despite recent misses Beckford will score goals, but we desperately need the link between back & front without launching it.

I agree that the Eagles of last season would be ideal, & unless there's a serious problem- injury or attitude- with him, I'd hope he gets another chance.

Do you not get bored of saying the same things over and over again? Or do you just do it until someone reacts so you can feel you've got your point across?

Something gone seriously wrong for Eagles. To say DF was building a side around him. Now struggling to get on the bench.
