tomski Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Yeah its a group called fruity whites, like junior whites but we always meet the same player at every meeting ha. Quote
Pie Eater Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Always difficult this I find it amazing how many fans we have 'lost' ie I'll have a free ticket for them and I still cant get them to go. To be fair, when did you last actually enjoy a home game? Most of them are pretty fucking miserable Quote

Most of them are pretty fucking miserableTruthfully, thought the boro or forest (whichever was more recent) game was good. Admittedly not the first 15 mins of the boro match . Some have been bad, some have been entertaining. I think it helps that I tend to have at least a pint before I watch mind. Quote

I got completely pissed, watched a grand total of 20 minutes football and still don't know who scored. Kind of sums your last comment up entirely. Quote
Pie Eater Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Oh aye, that cup game was actually pretty enjoyable. Doesn't help that I drive to home games and so can't drink Quote

davidjack Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I reckon they're going to have to offer some big reductions next season if they want crowds not to plummet. The on the day prices seriously need looking at too. I got a ticket for a mate the other night - 28 quid the cheapest ticket on offer - to watch that shite on a cold February night?! How do they expect to attract more non season ticket holders at those prices? Quote

Whilst I agree that watching football in this country is too expensive (even my local team Biggleswade Charge £12, and they're really, really shit) - what do you think would be a reasonable amount to charge for watching a Championship team? - it's not a loaded question, I'm just interested what people think is a fair price, instead of just staying it's too much at present Quote

Carlos Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 When I started paying for myself, I think it was £1.80, adults (anyone 16) was £3. I had a paper round which paid £3. Do paper rounds now pay £39? Quote
davidjack Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Yeah, I'd go with that. For 90 minutes of entertainment. Tho we're flouting the trades descriptions act at the moment. You're right that football generally is overpriced at every level... I went to watch my cousin's team Mansfield at Hyde last season and that was 14 quid to stand behind the goal at pitch level. Quote
Carlos Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Aye, I have issues with paying over £20, I've paid £19.25 to watch Johnny Marr, Bolton v Yeovil for £32 or whatever isn't happening. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 If I was stood in a pub watching it, I'd sup 4 pints. So, 4x£3.50 (at most, obvs not Balmoral) £14 per match on my season ticket. £20 pay on day is about right I'd say & get rid of those stupid catergories too. Went to the Shay the other night, £17 for terraces in the conference, ott, won't be making a habit of it Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Conference is an odd one as you can watch top of League Two at Rochdale for £15, and even cheaper at a couple of others. Mind you, in BWFC's defence, I'm paying £22 today for a bottom six game in the Scottish Prem Quote
no balls Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I agree over the category thing. It's bollocks, I want to watch Bolton, who we are playing is irrelevant Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I agree over the category thing. It's bollocks, I want to watch Bolton, who we are playing is irrelevantJust means we can charge more money for the bigger away followings. Quote
no balls Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Just means we can charge more money for the bigger away followings. And home fans plus then other teams can do it to us Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Just means we can charge more money for the bigger away followings. Yep. Or. Deter home fans. Which do you think we should be doing? Quote
HomerJay Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 40 against some and 20 against others Or would you prefer 30 across the board? Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Yep. Or. Deter home fans. Which do you think we should be doing? Option B for me, and I say that as someone who got a season ticket this season after buying match by match last year and realising how much it mounts up. Trouble is, bean counters will question where we're going to make up the 50 grand that would be lost from away supporters alone by reducing prices by a tenner against Leeds for example. Quote
Traf Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Doesn't the club get approx. £10 per season ticket per game on average? If so, £10 for kids and £20 for adults on the day is plenty. Quote

Then the bean counters should realise the 50k would be made up by an extra 2,500 home fans paying £20. Instead of 0 paying £30+ & that's before extra merchandising, beer sales, programmes et al. Bums on seats make money, empty seats do not. 16.5K on against a high flying Burnley, local derby, even on a cold wet Tuesday night, is poor in my eyes, even if we are playing shit. My mate wanted to upgrade his kids ST for an adult, £27 he was quoted... For an upgrade! Guess what he did? Quote
HomerJay Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Do the club get anything from beer and burgers? I thought it was outsourced? Though I could have just made that up. Quote

Just playing devils advocate to an extent mind. Catering is outsourced btw, Heathcote's will pay an annual fee and then keep whatever they make over the tills. Quote
