bolton va va Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Great stuff & loads of positives. The 4-5-1 worked beautifully & we created boatloads of chances ( shame we missed most of them but this could easily have been another Leeds ), & so long as we keep Juke for 4-4-2 it gives us 2 very good & different options of how to play......plus we've shown at Derby & Yeovil that we can put up a fight as well. More good news was the 3 youngsters getting a run....Hall was in & out again but has real potential, Threlkeld looks a long way ahead of White, & Kellett was great in his short cameo, I thought he was a full back but he did really well on the wing, & even though he's only a little fucker he wasn't scared of getting stuck in. The support for the local lads was ace as well. Well done Dougie. Quote
M G WHITES Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Best away this season, was Beckford born offside? We outclassed them all over the park.Freedmen out,not Quote

If he learns that he'll be a very good player Quote
jules_darby Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Are the goals online anywhere yet? I have no idea how Chungy's went in Quote
clown Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 One or two need to learn how to punch a giant inflatable football in the right direction. Other than that, great (dry) day out. Threlkeld's foul was mistimed and ref handled it well, in fact thought ref did well. Kellett could be exciting, I'm not sure if Hall is effective - he tries things but they don't come off. The ball sat up beautifully for Trotter's goal but that was deserved for what was his best game for us IMO. Quote
Eddie Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Just back from Sheffield. Top day/night out once again. The away days have made this season! Dougie got it spot on yesterday, I was a bit worries when I saw Juke on the bench but playing Danns just off Beckford worked very well. Agree with others that Beckford is more than capable of scoring a lot in this league, he's far from the perfect striker but if he can get some confidence early next season then id back him to score 15-20. Trotter had a very good game and is showing that he's a lot better as a centre mid than playing off the striker. Mills and Wheater again very good, especially Mills he's had a very good 2nd half of the season. That pairing is more than good enough for this league, I hope we can keep both of them over summer. Great to see the young lads play again, Kellet had a great half hour and should have an assist to his name if Chungy wasn't so shit. He seems to already be a bit of a fans favourite and it was good to see Spearing push him over to the fans at the end of the game to milk the applause. Threlkeld for me though was pushing for man of the match, he didn't put a foot wrong, solid all game in defence and looks very composed on the ball. Another top following and atmosphere to go with it all, I just kept thinking how many we would have taken if we were pushing for play offs/promotion, hopefully next season we'll have something to play for. The basis is there for Freedman and it's games like yesterday that do make me think he knows what he's doing. A few good ins and outs in the summer, a couple of the youth coming through and a strong pre season and we could do well next season, the majority of the league is shite. Quote

davidjack Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 How many did we take in the end, anyone know? Seemed like a good 2k to me. Made some good noise too. Quote
magic legs Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Really enjoyed yesterday. Good drink before in the station and after in the New Barracks Tavern. Made all the sweeter by meeting up with a Wednesday mate afterwards. Threkeld solid and a tidy cameo from Kellett. Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Ceremonial county: north Yorkshire according to the inter web In 1968 Middlesbrough became part of the County Borough of Teesside, and in 1974 it became part of the non-metropolitan county of Cleveland until the county's abolition in 1996, when Middlesbrough became a unitary authority. The town now forms part of North Yorkshire for ceremonial purposes only. So technically they're Yorkies... Quote
L/H White Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 I bet Kellett had a massive wank when he got home last night. Bet the lad felt on top of the world. Loved spearing pushing him over to get his own applause. Quote
buckhurstwhite Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 What a top day out, cracking pint of "Ale" at the station if ALL away days where like that Quote

mannyroad58 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 It was my youngest lad and his mate's 1st ever away game and they couldn't believe the atmosphere and they can't wait for next season and yesterday he said "dad is every away game like that because it was brilliant" and i replied "atmosphere yes performance no, you were lucky" he just had a big smile on his face and said "i can't wait to go to more next season" Fantastic end to a shit season Well done to DF and the boys Quote
