Pre Season.

4games confirmed for July, Macclesfield, Rochdale, Tranmere, and Port Vale, none of them very inspiring, but suppose it's about getting them fit.

What if you are an under 12's ladies team and have somehow managed to get a friendly against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. They are playing their full team but they manage to concede 2 own goals in th

Yep, 20K kids at £1, as anyone who attended will attest.

Not arguing, agreeing really that the people of Bolton didn't warm to the Europa League. Champions League is the only prize really.

all hell would have broken out if he had appointed anyone different.

personally i don't care anymore. no matter who we have as manager we will still have Jay and his brigade moaning about it. A lot of the fun of going to the football has been taken away from me because of these folk

Come on E that's bullshit

OC was 10/1 to be our manager

Not many folk anywhere thought he would come to us and Gartside did a good job in attracting him in. I don't remember many on here at the time criticising it as a bad appointment either. The vast majority were overjoyed.

But to say PG had to get him in for the fans is wide of the mark as not many fans thought we could have got him anyway.

We should be here, we should be there but when we get there they don't fucking bother!

Constuctive criticism from people who support the club is fine imo they have earned that right. But to moan we aren't spending fucking money then not buy tickets etc is fucking ludicrous.

We had 23k on for a league game against Grimsby once.

£5 a ticket I think it was that night.

Hope nobody mentions the tranmere or villa semi finals. :-(

I must remember it differently. the fans wanted coyle. the fact that it was unlikely / made up means nothing. look at the uproar in not signing Rhodes following a twitter rumour

Mounts its not on here. its when you are at the games. a large part why i moved from where i sat last season was down to an argument where a guy said "he should be sacked because he is shit" when asked who he wanted in to replacement the comment was "anyone". you can't discuss or debate anything with these morons. they seem to think we have a divine right to be in the Prem. we were in Europe and it was the most successful time of the clusb history. we didn't even break 18k for a europa game did we? this shows we are a small club.

As a club we are what we are there's nothing we can do about that. Regarding fans who are slagging of which ever manager is in charge that happens at every club in the world, passions are high during the match perhaps not the best time to debate with other fans just blank them or move elsewhere there's plenty of empty seats :) Imight be moaning because I'm an old git now but the bad times make the good times better, I'm keeping the faith we will turn the corner and the sun will come out once again.

That's fuck all, we had 72,434 on against Darlington once. Don't know how much it was for a ticket, how much the ale was, or if the pies were burnt.

Talking of pies, here's one for the old duffers......didn't Bolton once give away a load of free pies once at a match?

In hindsight, the Coyle appointment was an unmitigated disaster, at the time though everybody wanted him in as manager, and folk were delighted when he joined. Had we not gone and got Coyle at that time, people would probably have accused the club of going for the cheap option or lacking ambition.

Blimey, I'm agreeing with the Welsh one....I think.

Bang on.

The whole end at Burnley was signing his name. Sections of the home crowd were singing his name at the home games leading up to his appointment. The fans wanted him and they got him.

After the first 6 months fans and journalists alike had his appointment down as best appointment since sliced bread. Little did we or Gartside know what was about to follow.

As I've said on here before the biggest mistake Gartside made was not sacking him before it was too late. Coyle took us down with a team that should have stopped up. I don't see how that is PG's fault.

As for the appointment of Freedman...not many argued with that either.

The only one folk argued with proved to be the most successful since Big Sam to date.

Big E in blaming the fans shocker

Well if you are right and your mate PG only appointed a shit Manager for that sole reason he is clearly not fit to hold office

Bang on.

All correct

with regards to the Freedman appointment though

don't forget the poll on here had one UNANIMOUS winner in Solskjaer

Thats just it though, Iirc, Gartside did'nt want to sack Coyle, it was Ed that stepped in, and told GArtside to get rid, just a pity our ED is'nt as ruthless as that one legged pie eating cunt.

I'd have Solskjaer now over Douglas

PG/ED only had one name on their list as well which was Solskjaer

when he said he wasn't leaving Molde they looked for someone similar in terms of what they were looking for, i.e. young and showing promise

one of which appointments he had to make to appease the peasants

Talk about twisting things. If this was true (and it isn't it's just another I am superior to the 'peasants' post because everything is the fans fault) then Gartside instead of leading from the front, is letting the fans pressure him into choosing the next manager? That's the sign of a clueless cunt if ever there was one. And why were we in this position anyway? because he appointed Megson and pompously told us 'everyone in football will understand' Aye right Phil we all understand, like the fax in your pocket, no relegation idea, ripping City off but then having to backtrack. Utter balloon who seems to get a free ride on here from the Carlino lot while the best manager we have ever had and previous chairmen get vile abuse. We are heading for a massive fall under him and god help us if he chooses the next manager.

The fact allardyce is our most successful manager doesn't preclude him from being a cunt.

Jsl.

I think i would swap him for Diddles at the moment. Braindead fuckwit.

Not that i am bothered about this, as its all water under the bridge, but I have heard Phil Gartside (on more than one occasion) on the radio gleefully tell anyone who would listen that he admired Coyles work in Scotland and recommended him to the Burnley board members for that job. Fans choice or not, he was coming anyhow.
