Islamic State

Why are we not bombing the fuck out of this lot with the yanks? I can understand why the Commons voted against not to get involved with the Syria thing. But this is different. If anyone needs blasting to fuck it's these cunts.

I don't think there would be much argument to the concept that we should have left all of the dictators in place in the Middle East. Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein etc.

Brute force is the only thing many of the inhabitants of these sandy hell holes understand so a strongman dictator keeping all of these warring factions in their place seems like the only recipe for any sort of peaceful existence (if fuckers like Amnesty International can keep their bib out of the odd atrocity they commit to maintain control).

We are all wise in hindsight.

Aye, can't beat a good dictator.

Interestingly, they were looking at the tribal aspect on the news this morning. Democracy won't work for societies like that whether we, who live in a democracy, like it or not. We should've left them be and we'd not be having the problems we are now.

Hopefully we're learning from these experiences. I does rankle though when current politicians just blame the previous pm for all the ills of the world. Rightly or wrongly we went into Libya with the best of intentions. Once Gaddafi had gone the people had their chance to build a sound political system etc but blew it. Let's not have a witchhunt but a sensible review and change of foreign policy where necessary.

I think blaming the people of Libya for 'blowing their chance' at a sound political system is a little harsh. Not sure what your average man or woman in the street is supposed to do when a load of militants move in to fill the power vacuum that we helped create?

I don't think coalition forces just did one. Can't remember exactly but pretty sure efforts were made to liaise with interested parties to set up formal elections etc. Trouble is even these interested parties can't or won't agree to non violent government. Had they agreed to work together and utilised coalition strength the extremists could have been dealt with while a proper system is created.

You're right about the power vacuum though and experience now shows this to be commonplace so we should think twice about future interventions.

It must also be taken into account that much of this started as a result of the Arab spring which was in part the uprising of the common man in the street the together with the extreme elements. Many people wanted them to be helped and had DC etc refused they would have been criticised. Its this that is annoying, governments being damned if they do and dammed if they don't.

Sure its not easy to start afresh and I'm sure without stable government this country would descend into chaos, but ultimately that would be the fault of the cunts the the weapons etc.

Just watching the news and about this fella killed with a hammer for performing black magic.

Aka Spiritual healing punishable by death.

What a bunch of fucking wankers.

Lots of innocents there otherwise you'd just go and nuke the "Islamic State".

Democracy is starting to fail in the west anyway, perhaps we shouldn't be exporting it to anybody

You only need to look at how the US presidential elections are run as well as our own

With social media spreading mass ammounts of bollocks swinging voters it's showing the limitations of democracy

I'd give it a century tops before the West has some form of Grand Electiral Collage picking our leaders rather than one person one vote

Aye, Ani's 50th was a good do.

Glad they've caught him....sadly we know something will happen over here shortly

Glad they got him alive - hopefully they can get some decent information out of him. You're right though - cunt!

Once extracted we should strap his device to him to test its viability. On a suitable site obviously

With their family members in the same room. They're happy to terrorise innocents so let's turn the fucking tables. Fuck em.

Good to see that the  our security services are on top of this at the moment, mind you the only have to be lucky once as the Provos used to say. Prevent is working too, although the hand wringing Guardianistas want to put a stop to it as it upsets the the sensitivities of those who follow the religion of peace.

I know this makes me unpatriotic and a terrorist sympathiser but I think it is a balancing act

I'd happily give the authorities carte blanche to do wtf they want but that might be counter productive if it alienates folk who are waivering
