September 24, 201411 yr Oh there's no doubt about it he's the best in the buisnes when it comes to talking a good game
September 24, 201411 yr I like him now. This will last until he plays Mason at left back and goes with Ream up top on his own later this evening...............
September 24, 201411 yr He does come across really well, and sounds like he really does care. But that doesn't matter if you can't motivate the players to perform on the pitch, and come up with tactics to win a game. You can prepare all you like, but if you can't produce the goods you are still shit.
September 24, 201411 yr Maybe this is what Garside is seeing from him on a daily basis.... His methods are ones that you can appreciate and on paper actually think are a benefit to the club..... Just they dont seem to work where it matters with results The club could well have accepted that trying to produce 2-3 players in a lower division but selling them each for 2-5m (Peterborough) is a more substainable business model than the one we have tried previously
September 24, 201411 yr It does sound good but the reality is he has the players to be top 6 if he would just stop messing with formations play a settled team and put the best players on the pitch when there fit, everything he says could be viewed as an excuse as to why he has failed in his primary job and that is our league position.
September 24, 201411 yr The whole thing has a subtext... "I'm great at planning and preparing kids for the future..." Move him to the youth set up then.
September 24, 201411 yr it certainly gives you confidence that he's doing a good job "behind the scenes", which he says he also did at Palace it would be good to also see evidence on the pitch that he knows what he's doing and of us moving forward, otherwise it doesn't count for much whilst he's here because maybe, like Palace, we need him to leave and a new guy to come in and profit from the foundations he seems to be laying, maybe at end of day, if he's doing as good a job as he believes, he will be here next season

The bit I've highlighted in bold, I honestly don't believe we have.
September 24, 201411 yr Can't decide if the journo is having a sly dig at DF with that last sentence.
September 24, 201411 yr Coyle talked a great game. Its all bullshit. Its a results business and he has never got the results

September 24, 201411 yr Fantastic article I like the bit where he says he will have 1 eye on the game and the other on what Jose is doing and how he's doing it. Seems a very switched on and focused bloke - just not right for us.

Mourinho will be sorting out his fucking shopping list tonight He won't give the slightest fuck as he knows it's a foregone conclusion.
September 24, 201411 yr Smashing article. The guy comes across focused, driven and like he knows exactly what he's doing. I genuinely like the cut of the bloke, and he appears to be a chairmans dream. His decision making is terrible though. Team selections,in game decision making and constant bizarre tinkering without reason are and more than likely will be his downfall at this club. The guy doesn't deserve abusing,I dread to think some of the stuff he hears coming from the stand,he must be thick skinned that's for sure. Reading between the lines in that article I think it's pretty obvious he's not convinced he's here for the long haul. Shame really, but it's just not working. It could work elsewhere in years to come. I would just rather it be with another club he plies his trade with.
September 24, 201411 yr The pictures he had taken down were not those of players still at the club. They were Sam's "galacticos", the likes of Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo, Ngotty, Hierro, Nolan & Speed etc. The players who took us into Europe not once in our history, but twice and twice in three seasons. That, Mr Freedman, is as big an achievement as your beloved Meeelan winning the European Cup.

September 24, 201411 yr Mourinho will be sorting out his fucking shopping list tonight He won't give the slightest fuck as he knows it's a foregone conclusion. Thanks for that. The on-line version is presumably Henry Winter's full piece (en route to Anfield), but the hard copy version in the DT is edited down by several paragraphs, including reference to him watching Mourinho tonight.
