UKIP battered Clacton 21,000 to Tory 8,700 and Lab 3,900. 51% turnout with a 44% swing to UKIP. Their share of the vote was up 60%.

Every MP of every party is only in it for what they can get out of it themselves - self important tossbags. That witch in Middleton or Rochdale or wherever it is spouting off about 'thrashing' UKIP with its tory values by 600 votes in a 36% turnout, you are really popular there love, well done

I don't think it really counts when you are voting for the same bloke, he just happens to have switched parties. Especially when there's an election coming up.

A lot of those that do survive only do so by employing poles, Lithuanians etc on lower wages.

 

Its no wonder groups like ukip thrive in these forgotten towns.

Hence why Labour have got a massive shock around the corner - I bet UKIP take at least one safeish Labour seat come May. This crowd of shite under Miliband are criminally complacent about the working class vote, don't know the first thing about the working class and are woefully unprepared to do anything about it departing them in places where UKIP put up a decent show.

I disagree, the only chance Labour have is UKIP splitting the right wing vote and/or nicking enough seats from the Tories for them to creep in.

He's reet. Surely everyone can agree that the last thing anyone wants to sleepwalk into is Prime Minister Edward Miliband. The pragmatists of UKIP and the Conservatives should be talking about seats where one or the other will step aside and avoid splitting the anti Labour vote. It is a neat soundbite but in a lot of constituencies it is true - vote UKIP, get Labour. If ever there was an election to think rationally and unemotionally about the best tactical vote and leave all party loyalty aside, this would be it.

If that bint Julie Hilling runs again I'll be voting for anybody but her. It's just a shame nobody knows who's tactically voting for/against who?
