Mixed feeling over Bradford. Didn't like them as one season I think they stopped or interrupted our promotion charge as a kid with a 1-1 draw (I think mcginlay lobbed the keeper fro about 30 years out)... But they beat us 2-1 or snatched a draw late on....

 

Then one season.... My dad's best mate who was a Bradford fan took us both to mcginleys debut for them against tranmere (0-0 I think with super hitting the bar)

 

 

I need malc to confirm the stats.... Probably ended 4-0 Bradford v Plymouth knowing my memory

Seeing as tranmere are gonna be safe how about that plane over Wigan last game?

Lets not get too giddy just yet about Wigan. Many times over the years this turd has failed to flush - even going back to the 80s when they spent many a season near the bottom of Div 3 and scraped out of it at the last.

 

First things first, we have to go there in the league in the Spring. Lets take thousands and hammer another nail in their coffin. Then we can start thinking about what May might bring.

3 wins in 1 season would be splendid.

We've only ever done the double over Wigan once  - in Bruce's promotion season (92/3). However we did win three in a season against them on another occasion. In 85/6 we beat them in both legs of the Freight Rover Northern Final (0-1; 2-1). We also beat them 1-3 at Springfield Park ending 30 odd games unbeaten at home for them, complete with celebrating Bolton fans throughout all home ends. Sadly they won the first of the four games that season - 1-2 at Burnden on New Year's Day. Steve Thompson was sent off for Bolton having not been booked in the first place. The ref, one Ken Walmesley (a Bolton fan from the Tyldesley area in his youth) sent Bolton's number 8 Tommo off having booked Wigan's number 8 previously!

 

Wigan did the double over us the season after (86/7), which is the only time they've achieved the feat.

Anyway in amongst all the fa cup shocks and that I noted Blackpool were 2-0 up at half time

Steven Defour sent off for kicking the ball into the crowd when a player was down injured.
