Glasgow Food

I'm after somewhere to eat near Glasgow Central train station later today.

Last minute trip means no chance to research so I'm turning to the foodie experts of WW. Nothing too posh, expensive or part of a chain.

Go to merchant city perhaps Home or Nicensleazy.

McDs

Greggs. Flat Sausage barm.

Blue Lagoon chippy. One next door to the main entrance and one near the low level entrance.

Greggs. Deep fried battered Flat Sausage barm.

Corrected

Deep fried Mars bar

Was up in Dunkeld a few weeks ago and the local Fish bar did a 'Sweet of the week.' The week I was there it was deep fried Bounty. They came in search of paradise and found it in a cardiac-inducer.

Mince'n'tatties at the RSC with a complimentary tequila and bitter lemon to wash it down.

Crackin'

Gumbo and I are in Glasgow Friday / Saturday. Been recommended a nice thai place and then on to somewhere called Corinthians after the gig

I wonder if we'll be welcome on the 18th November

As it happens I'll be up there then. Are a few off here travelling up? No sure, although I would expect Sauchiehall St might be nice and lively.

I presume that does what it says on the tin

If the tin says £20 for a monkeys forehead in your dish then very much so.

Bumping this to the top.... need some recommendations for drinking and eating for this Sunday.

Got 5-6 hours to kill in the city.

And any late night bars open after 10.30pm.

I do too

well

basically me and Smiley are going on a date to watch Faith No More at the O2, which looks fairly central

so where do we go where people won't think we're bummers?

No such place exists

We went to Glasgow & struggled to find somewhere to eat post-gig. Don't go to TGI Friday, it's even more awful than any other one.

Nice & Sleazy is open to 3am on Sunday night.

Is that legal?

There's a Blackhouse - Grill on the Corner, which is decent. Same as all the other "Grill on the............." though

Merchant city was great when we went. There's plenty of places down the west end though. Nice bars and restaurants. Went to a place called the butchershop I think. Was class and very cheap as it was a week night could be expensive weekends though. I wasn't that impressed by bars in the centre.
