Probably easier to pick your worst.

We have seen some seriously poor numbers from you lot, in your last couple of season in the Prem.......

Surely no one is thick enough to bite.......

  • ffs I booked a hotel yesterday!

  • We must have had 5k that night in Hull in 93...and 4k plus at Wrexham in 88...not bad given we were only getting 5k at home back then.

Great effort by Middlesbrough, trying to think what our best away following has been out of the North west for a league game?

We've not had an away following like that in the league ever outside the NW that I remember.

There is only us, Wigan, Blackburn and Burnley that offer 3k+ tickets to away fans that I can think of.

You might get bottom tier opened at Sheff Weds if you sell out the top but you rarely see it, and maybe the Huddersfield away end can hold 4k.

Not many opportunities anyway outside NW to take 5k away fans.

even if there was mate we wouldn't,boro that year was free travel and 2500 went and we could of had more tickets

Would have thought Sheffield Wednesday and Forest would have took more.

Looked on telly that Forest filled the bottom tier along the touchline.

Didn't we take 4 or 5000 to sheff Wednesday when they beat us 5 nil? We took alot to hull couple of years back but we usually do when we've not been somewhere for a few years. Rotherham should be a good turnout this year. Boro are in the middle of nowhere there approach to what's a near away game is nothing like ours. I'm begrudgingly impressed by some of their followings though.

re: Hull - we only took just over 2k as that was the max allocation they had in the their first season back in the PL, but demand was high because, as you say, was our first league visit since that Friday night, and it was the first game in aaaages where I thought I might not get actually get a ticket

re: Rotherham - that will all change if either of us get through to FA Cup 4th round - I actually hope we both get knocked out 3rd round because it's not like we'll win it and I want to do Rotherham on a Saturday South Yorkshire all dayer, plus it's a new ground, won't be happening if it's midweek

Self, self, self, eh? :D

The club get £67,500 for winning a 3rd round tie.

Not that I remember. Certainly not by full-time.

Is it really that much?  -  no wonder some of the smaller clubs see it as such a big deal to progress

I remember it was about 4 or 500 at the end but I thought we'd filled it at the start. I've tried to block out the day since though.

Maybe the dullest reason to get knocked out of the cup? so we can play Rotherham on a Saturday.

thats not what hes saying though, is it

he wants to get knocked out so he can get leathered in sheffield

I've just looked it up, nearly 20 years ago. I thought it was about ten at most. Thinking about it Europe is nearly ten years ago though. Where'd that time go.

I realise that, but a cup away day somewhere else could be miles better. Would rather have a cup game anyday.

I must take this opportunity to commend Everton on their brilliant away support.

They are talking 17k to Germany this week and took at least 20k to France the other week.

They also bought 9k and swamped our end in the cup the other season.

If I was out or work and claiming may benefits I also would go to more matches.

Our fans got massively bored of the prem by the end, no doubting that. We were probably averaging 600/700 at most grounds and home attendance was dropping. The cost of aways was high compared to the Championship too and our followings have picked up a bit again.

Or we get Rotherham away in the cup

That way we get the cash for progressing in the cup and leathered in Sheffield

Win win

Rotherham don't give that many away tickets. Hull I think was about 2700

get more for the Cup, though.

Rotherham started season offering 1200 as hoped to sell rest to home fans. However they've been offering 2600 recently

Is it really that much? - no wonder some of the smaller clubs see it as such a big deal to progress

Plus gate receipts

I still know what's more important though

We def sold out the upper tier as they had to open that corner stand to let more in, dunno how many it holds

You'd have to check the highlights to see if we had the lower tier but don't think we did

thats not what hes saying though, is it

That is what im saying
