Must be a bit of a rivalry there because I must admit they were one of a very small number who I said I'd not be disappointed if we got a home draw.   Nailed on £15, they'll bring 2,000 no problem,

  • We wouldn't have such a good draw if Freedman had still been here

I'm happy with all matters Macron

And I've got a day off

I'm not that arsed about Blackburn. Can't stand tranmere and still not keen on wolves. Think its age and location for most. Wigan is probably the closest we've got to a rival, when they scored against city in the final though I laughed. A real rival I'd have been gutted. The wigan games have much more edge to them lately then Blackburn ones though.

Wiggin are starting to become a proper rival. Probably down to us being in and around each other in the league for a few years.

Though I despise Villa more from my days in Coventry than I do Wiggin.

I just dislike the pie eaters.

Blackburn sold out their allocation 4250 for boxing day.

kin ell

hope we can do ourselves justice now then

I have +3 coming who don't normally come for whatever reason...

(and because boxing day tickets is an easy christmas present)

It's a strange number to give em - why not the full 5k?

I'd hope we could get at least 18k home fans...20k at a push.

Has there ever been much of a rivalry with Blackburn? I've not noticed it if there has.

Now this does make me smile.

Fucking hell - you should have been there on the Burnden Park forecourt or in the Town End a few times when we didn't have an overwhelming horde like that night.

Some of most vicious and bloody confrontations I can recall.

You won't have a scooby but I am talking about the Percy Pitboot era. In truth the rivalry for us but I hate the scum more.

Blackburn have been nothing for a long time now but their steel toecapped rockers in the early days of what is now known as FV were a formidable opponent. Folk will tell you that all fans look through rose coloured spectacles and they always won their confrontations. You only have to look at the plethora of 'novels' on the subject (because that's what they are). In the case of bastard rovers however, I can tell you that we always seemed to come out on top in the end. Bolton has always had some exceptional nutters.

'Powers that be' don't seem to like giving anyone the full allocation any more unless it because with "L" and ends in "eeds" for some reason.

The less of the fookers in the ground the better

Oh defo. I again think it stems on what area you come from though. Blackburn over Wigan anyday, though if I looked at it objectively Wigan would be the better rivalry (due to their hatred of us etc)

Don't get me wrong I loved beating them the other day but I feel nothing before hand. I do like Wigan pathetic though????

Still makes me chuckle the way you lot think United are rivals #

To be fair Bolty I've been going to watch Bolton since 74 and can't remember Rovers having a decent mob and you are going back into the dark ages to recall a decent rovers mob, great tale though as you know I just love hearing stuff pre 74.

I've seen blackburns mob twice.

Once in the moorings when ash trays where being lobbed about

And the other then they were waiting in Bolton for us when we got back from Soton. Or was it leicester? Wherever it was they didn't hang about. Think they underestimated our numbers a little...or time of arrival :-)

Blackburn away has been a piss take for decades. It's become boring to be honest.

Since the fernhurst shitout as well. It was always a good drink in there pre match.

Think it's a generational thing but also location, personally I think someone from Farnworth would have a lot more feeling towards the red sh*te then some from Horwich would. Historically we have obviously had Bury, Wigan and Manure as main rivals although you think of the way Blackpool, Burnley, Tranmere, Wolves etc hate us and the rivalries with City, Blackburn even Preston. It's nice to know that there is no shortage of local derbies in these parts and it is one of the reasons why I always feel for fans of teams Like Reading, Carlisle and Middlesbrough who have nobody on their doorstep as it were.

Now this does make me smile.

This is spot on. And I know that many believe that Burnley are their bitterest, but don't be lulled into a false sense of security, I went out with a lass from Blackburn and her father and two brothers hated Bolton, they knew they couldn't live with us but in the 1970's especially, gave it a go a few times

They barely had any supporters in the 70's. They were averaging around 10,000 for most of it, even when they were doing well.

I get mildly irritated when some teams win but downright fucking annoyed when it's the red shite

I don't think it's a bad draw, our closest neighbour at home.

Before then Mounts. I'm talking even pre-skinhead era.

I can recall that night match in 70 in the league cup and Rovers fans leaving a trail of destruction on the way back to the station.

That may have been the same night we had a major skirmish outside the main entrance on the car park. All filthy, greasy bleedin' rockers too. Uuuuurgh! Lever End and the 'Embankment Rovers' charging flat out at each other with an ugly collision at the half way line.

Bolton boot boy era at that time. Burnden was a bad place to come and try it on
