Saw a post from journo on twitter this morning moaning that Maddison hasn’t been given minutes when we were 3-0 up vs both Wales and Senegal and how it’s a disgrace and would dent his confidence etc.

Imagine that being the thing you take out if last night. Like you say though, some will always have the strongest will to say “I told you so”, even above success.

i have no problem with knees, southgate, rainbows, i just think we arent very good to watch and i have different needs to be satisfied when im watching england

Heard that and it doesn't stack up.

Whether Benzema would have played more than him doesn't matter- he's still scored the goals when he's played. If he hadn't, someone else would have been playing. 

He's a decent player and finisher and is capable of punishing us.

That said, I see KM as the danger- his pace will be problematic, and that may open the door for the likes of Giroud.

yeah I agree with that

but whilst he's the their all time top scorer, I think there's a lot more far better players with far more honours etc who haven't scored as many as him in France's top 10/20 all time scorers list

so I think that is maybe why he's seen as underrated

I am not sure it only England. There are a few Bolton fans who do not like Evatt and seem happiest when we lose. There were a lot who hated Parky and again seemed happiest when we lost. 
Anything good is despite the manager anything bad is down to them alone. 
There is a line that most stay the right side of and are happy to be proved wrong.  Nought wrong with criticising the team but when have reached a WC quarter final as top scorers in the competition you would think 'boring' and 'negative' would not be mentioned.

Surprised Maeda started up front - he's like Dion, dropping deep, working hard but not really an out and out striker. Cautious from Japan IMO.

Great to watch, but their achilles heel is their central defenders. As Spain showed, they can be undone by quality crosses and a centre forward who is a good header of the ball. Whether Croatia can do that, I'm not sure.
