I need to get involved with NFL again, but need to choose a team. Was always a Dan Marino Miami Dolphins shirt wearing kid, but need some advice.

Which team is it worth following? Thinking about going down to Wembley to watch a game - anyone done it? Any help welcomed. Could just stick with the Dolphins and get tickets off Stub Hub for their game against New York Jets the day after the QPR game.

Which are the Liverpool/Man Utd of the NFL world to avoid?

That Edelman catch

:| :| :|

We left the pub at the end of the 3rd and headed back to my mates flat about 5 mins away.

Turned the telly on and watched in bafflement at the Falcons coking it all up.

As they said on sky the decision to pass on 3rd and 1, when they were averaging over 6yds a carry started the collapse.

Then the sack and holding penalty to take them out of FG range was the point where there was only one winner.

Loved watching American sports when I was over there

Going to try and get into NFL next season, I've not got a great deal of time to dedicate to watching it so what's the best highlights programme to get a good round up?

Does this mean that the baseball starts again soon? Will give that a watch as well, again recommendations for highlights packages if there is any, probably not as it's on every night of the week

Sunday nights are the best part of the weekend during the season.

Best highlights are actually on the NFL website to be honest.

Baseball starts around wrestlemania week so not until April.

It's the business end of the basketball at the moment.

Sky on demand has highlights of all the games, the Saturday night preview show on bbc after motd is highly entertaining.

The NFL website has loads of highlights posted during and after the game.

Thanks gents, will get involved

Brady and Edelmann had nearly three quarters' worth of making a bollocks of it between them.

Then that happened.

Brady finished the game like a fucking terminator.

I'll never get my head round the entire season being settled on toss of a coin, mind.

So why don't folk like Brady then?

I tried to get into it and watched it all.

Sum up my reasons

Correct. This is patently unfair. Like the college game, both teams should get an even number of possessions until one scores more than the other over an even number of possessions. Bit like sudden death penalty shoot out.

?

The game went into extra time.

The Pats won the coin toss so chose to have the ball first.

Because they scored a touchdown they won the game without the Falcons having the ball.

In the college game each team has the chance to score.

So in the case of the SB then the Falcons would've had a chance to score a td, if they had then each team would get another possession til one team failed to match the other.

cheers Frank, yes that does sound very unfair

any controversy about this?

Not really - Those are the rules, and it's not been applied before in the Superbowl

It is the first superbowl to go to overtime  and it was number 51

Did they ever review that last play, or was Ryan's acceptance considered sufficient?

I got by with the official NFL app, though the BBC show after MOTD was decent enough

if you do tune in on a Sunday, there's a Red Zone show that goes from game to game when someone gets in the red zone (i.e. within 20 yards) - you can end up with 4/5/6 etc games going on at once

also

for the record

I just bought an official NFL Buffalo Bills bob hat

definitely upping my game

aye, i like watch redzone, although I watched most raiders games last season on my kodi box

really got into it, looking forward to next season already

i had planned on staying up for the superbowl and having the monday off, but the house i'm moving into wasn't ready, oh well

got myself a raiders bob hat last year, sported it most of the winter

birchy, if you google, 'NFL' on a monday moring, all the games highlights are condensed into 5-6 minute videos, so just a pick and choose which game or watch them all

Traf and I are part of a rather gay group of Sunday night facebook fwends who all provide a running commentary on the games.

We've all just bought some NFL shirts from China for £20 each (proper ones too apparently, we'll see)

If you're fwends with Traf (you've ignored my request) it can be a lot of Tom Fun

Cheers lads

I've decided to adopt a team and it's the new York jets

This decision is based on no logic, not knowing if they are any good other than the like the green colour of their kit

Plus I reckon Giants fans are cunts. There is no basis for this judgement either

Jets are a bit shit

in the same division as the bills though

next season, to make it interesting, will be putting money on both the Bills and the Titans to:

win their division

make the play offs

win their conference

win the superbowl
