Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

So when things took a turn for the worse on the pitch, had ED made a statement saying "we are probably going down, so I'm stopping any investment to give us a chance of promotion" you'd have been OK with that?

No, I'd have liked ED to tell PG to stop giving out stupid contracts to average players, stop growing the squad size to the stupid point of having nearly 40 squad members now, & stop spending nearly 90% of revenue on players wages, as it is not a sustainable model.

What would you have liked him to do? Obviously with these silly comments you are happy with how he's handled his business interest in the last few years?

To your credit, I clearly remember you saying on here when we signed Elmander that it was a mistake and that we should have been using that money as part of a tighter finincial plan for any lean times which might potentially lie ahead.

I remember looking at his goalscoring record and being concerned that we had spunked such a lot of money for a smallish club on someone who was never going to score a hat full of goals. I was not so concerned at the signings of Djorkaeff, Anelka etc, not sure what your sarcastic point is. I was asked what got us in the shit and one of the things I think most would agree on is paying 11m for shit strikers and letting them leave for fuck all!

The massive point you seem to be ignoring BOWTON BAKED is that sport is a business like no other. For instance, if Holden's and Muamba's careers hadn't been ended in the fashion they were, we may well still have been in the Premier League now. Maybe, maybe not. You seem to think things like that can be predicted. Eddie clearly didn't invest his millions to make a profit. If you think that was his reason, you're delusional. If you think he's actually made money from his investment, you've completely lost the plot.

We can all pretend we're Nostradamus in hindsight.

Yep seems fair enough that if we get 2 injuries then we should accept we may go out of business. Its not a massive point at all, its a point for sure, and we were very unlucky especially with the chungy injury as well but we are in court on Monday because this club has been run by fucking idiots as much as I would like to blame Jonny Evans

We can all pretend we're Nostradamus in hindsight.

Was it good business? can I not criticise anything then? Did you rush out and get his name on your shirt? It doesnt matter whether I thought he was gonna score 40+ or be a major bell end, he was shit, spider asked what I thought contributed to us going down and I think that signing players like that and letting them leave for nothing is bad business, not sure I needed nostradamus type skills to work that one out.

My sarcastic point is that it's very easy to sound wise after the event. And these strikers that we bought for 11 million and let go for 'fuck all'. Do you remember a bid coming in for any of them from any other club? Because I certainly don't. You might also remember that Elmander wanted even more money in order to stay on.

Oh goody! Here comes Cheese to put words out that I've not said. Please state where I've mentioned 1) he's made money? 2) he's invested his millions to make profit?

Stick to what I've actually said or fuck off!

You're delusional if you think he's blameless in all this.

Why does it matter whether I thought he was great or shite. That kind of business has put us in the shit.

"His money"

Again, I'm not saying he's free from blame, but as Bolton and Stoke walked out of the tunnel for the Semi Final that day, no one was complaining.

I just think it's all too convenient to blame a bloke who has squandered a fortune and now looks a cunt for trying to salvage something.

Maybe he only ever wanted to invest £50mill but the spiral got worse and he had to stop somewhere?

And, now get this, maybe he wanted us to stay in the PL.

The No one was complaining when we were in cup semi-final and premier league argument is a daft one. Why would they complain? I'm not sure what your point is.

Eddie and co have done a remarkable job. Well done. I think you should have a suite named after you.

I think you should have a suite named after you.

The upper tier will be one big spider suite.

It just amazes me that everyone seems to have been predicting this for 4/5 years yet only NOW are they pissing and whining.

Everyone at the club must share the blame, ED included.

But to lay the blame for it ALL with Davies is, and I repeat, ludicrous.

It's a complete fucking mess, I just wish everyone who was so certain this was coming all those years ago had protested at the time, maybe it wouldn't have happened.

Unfortunately, I don't have a crystal ball or cameras set up in the offices at the club so blindly assumed they knew what they were doing. I must be proper fucking thick.

And I would have preferred we didn't sign Johan Elmander to clarify like.

In all fairness, I'm sure we all agree with this, but we're not the only club who has signed an expensive player that didn't work out

Loads of folk were questioning PG and he categorically denied there was a problem, secondly ED isn't wholly to blame he's had a good dose of bad luck but he's played a large and central part in every decision.

Very true, its usually Newcastle ! and Spider, I know a lot of people who were worried about our future 4 or 5 years ago as we all started to see our debt rise year after year. It was PG, ED and the club that told us not to worry it was all managed debt blah blah. accept your point about blaming ED alone though. I dont doubt he wanted the club to be a success and we were to some degree, now we are not. Lets just hope we have new guys in place soon and can hopefully get Elmander in on loan haha

Why do you think he invested millions then?

Without sticking up for PG, he might have believed there was no problem - for all we know ED could have been telling him that he would happily keep bankrolling the club forever more, and that there was no problem in the continual over spending. It only seems to have been once PG was off the scene, with his illness, that all this shit seems to have really hit the fan

I don't know all of EDs businesses, but I think it's fair to say the man knows how to run one well enough to make hundreds of millions.

So why on earth would he allow the one business he's involved in for the love of it to fail on purpose?

Unless he's a Wigan fan playing a really long game.

Even if it means the clubs ends up liquidated?

No - my love for the club is greater than my respect of Edwin's rights as the owner to be fair

You can criticise anything you want. Saying "I said he was going to be shite after I looked at his goalscoring record" requires evidence, otherwise you're just talking hindsight shite. Do you honestly think you know better than managers and scouts?

The problem is there were people saying this for years, & they got derided for it.

Your right, there are a number of people that are responsible but there's only ED left to point the finger at now, one has sadly passed, one has taken his money & ran, others took their money & said nothing.

And whilst there were those saying things weren't right, we were all being lied to by the club, it's ok it's all owed to one man , humbling levels of investment, blah blah blah.

Well unfortunately it's now coming out, as feared by some for years, it was all lies, the web has started to unravel & every week a new horror story came out on how bad it had really become.

The 'debt' was no longer the issue, the cash flow was & everything was mortgaged off or loaned to the hilt on stupid interest rates or terms.

Are you trying to suggest ED knew nothing about this? Because if he did he's culpable, if he didn't, he's culpable through stupidity. Either way he's culpable as I see it, unless he or someone comes out to explain why he's not.

The problem is there were people saying this for years, & they got derided for it.

Where? Show us.

Not going to get into 'how much ED has or has not put in'. I think it is still a considerable amount and those posting here, or on BN website that ED has actually made money out of BWFC are clearly mental. He has, however, allowed the situation to get totally out of control, and that is unforgivable.

I do think that it is a good idea for ED to leave some personal debt in the Wanderers. He doesn't expect it back. The conditions he has set mean that he would only get anything if the good times returned. If he didn't leave some personal debt (to him) with the new owners then they could just asset strip and pay themselves first. Why would they sell off or mortgage assets if the first call on any funds was to the previous owner. It's a way of ensuring that he passes the club onto people with the right intentions. The fact that SS don't appear to have a pot to piss in is what worries me more.

Oh, and by the way. Will people stop asking about the FA. It's the Football League that SS need to convince.

The football league don't like the fact Davies is leaving debt in. That is the sticking point.

Why do you think he invested millions then?

You're answer is in your question.

I'd have said spent rather than invested.

Why do you think he did?

Do you honestly think you know better than managers and scouts?

There were 91 other clubs in the league that didn't buy Elmander.
