Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

  • So a bloke who gave us £150million is asking that his contribution be remembered by naming a room after him. Not a stand or the entire stadium. A room.   He's also asking that instead of getting his

I might have a fucked up moral compass but Jesus, if there's a choice of some dodgy oligarch with a holiday home in Brighton beach or a mate of Barbara Windsor's, give me the Russian mob any time.

I'd quite happily take Rasputin if he could bankroll us back into the Premier.

I'm of same opinion. Sadly it's all about the money these days.

Apparently Sports Shield have 2 ex managers on their books, Pearson and Moyes. If they get go ahead they will be looking to use there footballing contacts for top loanees. Apparently in the last year we've turned down Russian takeover because of dodgy links to Russian Mafia.

Chelsea weren't/aren't as fussy but i'm with NB russkies anytime over jellied eels brigade

If deanos mob is preferred bidder we are heading into admin.

according to twitter he was in khans box

he was definitely in the one where west meets north[/quote

Agree with that - didn't know it was khans box bit it's certainly where the wags normally sit

This is where I'm at. I'm by no means a financial expert, but in a laymans view

1) ED wants to sell to a "preferred" English bidder/buyer - Holdsworth

2) Holdsworths gang (of which no one knows who they are) are rumoured to be preferred bidder

3) As I understand it, preferred bidder then gets to do "due-diligence" which I think means get lawyers to look at each other's books

4) This takes weeks

5) Lawyers then haggle for both parties (into January and transfer window open, no problem there as clubs only buy/sell on 31st)

6) Eddie sells to Holdsworth lot (still unknown party and wealth)

This is as far as I see it.

But, if they have enough money to buy club and service debt. There is only one way they will EVER have a chance to recoup laid monies. That is by being in the Premier League. THIS IS GOOD ISNT IT?

This is where I get worried because forgetting Deano and Khan who haven't got a pot to piss in in football club running terms. The new owner is either:-

A) a mentalist who has bought a business losing 1m a month for the sake of having access to loans off other clubs that Deanos mates manage, and Khan is going to have the odd boxing match at the Stadium (...brilliant)

2) a mentalist with untold wealth who will invest enough to get the club into the Prem with a chance of getting some money back.

Whilst 2 sounds ace, I'm in the "I bet it is A) camp!!

Ps this is the longest post I've ever made, also had to use 2 rather than B because b plus ) equaled B)

Google Jonathan disley he's the fella sat next to Holdsworth....

I heard this three weeks ago but couldn't believe it

The way preferred bidder status is being awarded is whoever puts down cash first to pay operating costs.

So it means whoever is chosen is serious and able to access millions at fairly short notice.

But would you still put 10m down without thinking you had a chance to get it back?

I'd rather have a rich Arab but it's good news that hopefully we'll be put out of our misery soon and get an owner who will pay the wages.

I know a lot don't like Deano because he missed a good chance against Aston Villa but i thought he was a trier and I have great memories of his winners against Liverpool and Chelsea in a Bolton shirt. He also showed bravery and character by stepping up and scoring the first penalty in the shoot out against Aston Villa

If NL can't turn the results round i think Phil Brown would be a fine choice to start the rebuilding process in the 3rd tier next season.

The day Phil Brown becomes a fine choice of manager is the day we drop at least two more levels.

So in sports shield we have Micheal and Lindsey Collins that both went insolvent in 2014.

Possibly involved is a con man that never had any cash anyway.

I just hope Lindsey's brother Simon Hickey from Westhoughton isn't involved :(

(Google him haha)

Given where we are I think Phil Brown would be ok. He has won promotions.

I too would be happy with Phil Brown. Decent manager at the level we will be punching IMO.

Fucking loves Bolton too

I don't mind Phil Brown, I don't see why so many have a downer on him. We won't be in much of a position to pick and choose who we want anyway. Anyway, it looks, like we're lumbered with Lennon for the time being anyway, so it's all pretty much a moot point anyway

But would you still put 10m down without thinking you had a chance to get it back?

I'd not put any money down to see the accounts of a business that we knew couldn't pay its staff.

I doubt anyone would pay 10M to enter due diligence. Suspect at most it will be enough to cover a months running costs.

But point is if other consortia are struggling to raise that cash it doesn't bode well so I'd rather go with whoever can get it.

For sure as we won't be going with anyone who can't raise it.

Well if pearson and moyes are involved on thsi consortium, Id have Pearson in. But only after lennon has saved up from relegation this year with a bit of financial backing from the new owners and he shows us what he can really do.

I'm going to A Chirstmas Carol featuring Paul Nicholls as Scrooge later today.

Shall I ask him if he has any money?
