If you wheel out mcginlay I'll be even less inclined to wish you well

so basically its another group with little financial clout?

God there's some cynics on here. These  are supporters trying their best to save the club, or least trying to do there part.

Correct

I'm waiting for the Judean People's Front

I've already started the People's Front of Judea. Tomorrow I'm wheeling out star backing in the form of Tasos from the Olympus Chippy.

Correct

Thanks for that Mr Positivity.

As a member of The Judean People's Front, you can piss off!

The lands worth £30m???

What's underneath it oil?

Haha..I must admit i did think twice when i heard it. I got talking to an old friend who is a senior guy at Warbies...only relaying what he told me.

God there's some cynics on here.

Not seen anything to contradict the self-publicists tag yet.

Jesus fucking Christ.

I've found very little on here I've wanted to comment on in recent months, but this has got me thinking.

WW certainly has its critics and more than its fair share of loons, but there are lots and committed intelligent folk here too. My point is that I'm amazed that a supporters trust wasn't mooted on here before now. To get the support of boltons largest forum would surely bolster any bid, but they chose to go with LoV, an organisation who couldn't run a bath, never mind a football club.

Animal Farm!

Except this time it's a bunch of spotty D&D players that didn't even kiss a girl til their 20's & even then didn't realise it was their sister!

They've spent the majority of their 20's & 30's playing championship manager & now think they can run or influence a multi-million pound football club? With the business acumen built from x-box games & applying for a place in this years Monopoly World Championships?

They've watched far too many Super hero Comic book films & clearly weren't bullied enough at school. If the likes of that Manning has an influence or say over our club I'm going to seriously lose the plot!

The circus has really come to town now!

Good to have you back, Traf.

I guess to have a supporters trust is tantamount to saying that we can't compete and many are hoping that a takeover = money to spend and the good times are back.

Jesus fucking Christ.

maybe your right but they are willing to try, should that not be appauded rather than ridiculed by certain members of WW?

Its worrying because if somebody takes over with no money, we will be back to square one in a matter of months/years.. As Carlos has said, its simply seems like a lot of self promotion, as without a huge amount behind them, the club will fold as its not self sufficient.

You need somebody with excellent business links, access to real football knowledge and advice about the inner workings of a club alongside a huge amount of money to bankroll the club

Someone like Eddie Davies you mean?

i should have said be prepared to bankroll it for a few years whilst the infrastructure is fixed

Infrastructure does not need fixing just the senior management.

it does,

the amount of business that's going on around that football club, if we are still losing as much money as we are, there are things severely wrong..

should be raking it in with off field activities with all the facilities

You are assuming they are not making money. They are just not making enough to cover what the football side is loosing.

Then again you need more than a hotel, office rental and a school for drop outs to make up for those losses.

So one group are trying to do something positive and one group are sat on their keyboards slagging them off.

Which ones are the geeks again ?

Something needs to change at the club, not saying these guys have all the answers but at least they are trying to change things. There are plenty on here who also want positive change at this time rather than being all terrortorial sticking together is the future.

Not saying a supporters trust is the answer but give them a chance to have a say.

To the Suporters Trust I applaud your intent but the veil of secrecy you have put around yourselves make you an easy target for cynicism, plenty on here have been through the dark days in the past but how can people get right behind you when your ability to run a football club is totally unknown ? If the idea is to give the fans a voice and representation in the club who put you guys in charge ? You need a wide support base from the fans and that won't happen by holding secret meetings whatever the reason and logic. What difference is there between a Trust that does not tell people what is going on and a normal Board that does not tell people ?
