There are plenty on here who also want positive change at this time rather than being all terrortorial sticking together is the future.

Not saying a supporters trust is the answer but give them a chance to have a say.

To the Suporters Trust I applaud your intent but the veil of secrecy you have put around yourselves make you an easy target for cynicism, plenty on here have been through the dark days in the past but how can people get right behind you when your ability to run a football club is totally unknown ? If the idea is to give the fans a voice and representation in the club who put you guys in charge ? You need a wide support base from the fans and that won't happen by holding secret meetings whatever the reason and logic. What difference is there between a Trust that does not tell people what is going on and a normal Board that does not tell people ?

Sums it up well

I just question the people behind it, having read some of a certain persons 'articles' , positivity isn't something I'd associate with them.

A well run trust, as I understand it, is a positive thing. A fans voice in the boardroom can be a good thing, as long as it's not self serving!

Like you say, the secrecy will always bring mistrust, they need to bring a lot more transparency to the table.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to be proven wrong and in the situation I'd rather have a supporters trust than non fans that might simply want the club for assets.

I'm trying not to be cynical, but at the moment we need a hell of a lot more than goodwill.

The three contingency plans they speak of:

1. Demand a seat on the board. what if they say no. Are they going to block the takeover ?

2. Take over the club. Fine if they can raise the money, but most of the supporters trusts that take over are in the £100,000s rather than the millions. Again good luck if they can raise the £30 million or so that's going to be needed short term.

3. Rangers situation. Start a new club. Fine. Hopefully it won't come to that.

My take is its probably a couple of years too late for this type of action, and if they were really serious, they would have had this meeting with supporters direct before even mentioning it, just to find out whats involved, before shouting it from the rooftops that they are the white knights coming into dodge to rescue us all.

Cynical ? nah, just trying to see the bigger picture.

Having said that, the secret weapon may be John Roberts, and they conclude a takeover on Monday. Who knows? and thats the point, we know nothing about them, but they hope and expect us all to get behind them. Not yet.

I've had a Google, I though Chris Peacock was involved with the BWSA? Now it appears he isn't and that they aren't involved?

"Political representation". Please expand on this.

I'm not arsed who's set up the trust its where it goes from here it's a platform to start with nothing more nothing less, from here on in let's hope that they get a wide variety of folk on board who have something to offer, for too long the BWSA has been a puppy dog of the club not challenging the direction of the club, this new trust must work to get a voice within the club and be a conduit between the club and fans. In this day and age the club cannot be run as a closed shop openess and transparency are a must the club needs to regain its down to earth friendliness and connect with the townsfolk. One man sums up what I would want BWFC to become again that man is Nat Lofthouse he was a legend but had time for everyone a friend to the club and its fans, this is what made the club great and we need to find it once again. It's a massive task to get back to what the club was like when the incredible journey started over the last 25 years but it can be achieved with a lot of hard work and folk pulling in the right direction and putting aside negativity for the good of the club.

The involvement of LOV makes it a non- starter for me.

If there's anything like Lifeline or TR85 run by people who do know their arse from their elbow. people that we know are committed to the club & in it for the long haul , i''ll be in , but i'm not interested in pointless, attention seeking gestures like the ALF transfer fund........or anything to do with LOV.

If anyone from LOV is involved I am out.

They won't say who they ( because of previous spats it says on the wanderer) but are expecting everyone to support them.

If the worse happens they can start a new club but so can other groups of BWFC supporters. In no way would theirs be the "official" one.

That's the crux, anyone involved in spats shouldn't be involved. It's bad judgement from the off. They should step down and remove this cloud.

indeed and a tenuous link at best.

I'm in the cynical bastard camp

He worked for Iddon and Qureshi.

there's that too which isn't a plus point. I fail to see the relevance of political representation unless there's a sniff those inside the council can influence which I would hope isn't the case.

Being run by a supporters trust is all well and good if we want to remain lower league club for the rest of our days.

No doubt their hearts will be in the right place, just not their bank balances.

Lets face it folks, we need a rich fucker.

If you think all the people setting up the ST are nobs, then join the ST and don't vote for them when they are looking to elect the people to run it. One member, one vote is how I think it works with any trusts associated with Supporters Direct.

They are never going to be in a position to run the club but could do a lot to try and influence the club when it comes to all the gripes documented on here with things like the match day experience.

What mickbrown said.

We need a rich fucker

Surely BWSA should be doing and should have been doing for years, the exact thing these ST people want to do?

At least they are already recognised by the club and have an elected committee - whether they are buffoons or not. A ST could become an extended version of this and save a lot of time in the long run
