Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

Plus Liverpool.

The thing about buying a Prem club is the price, I'd imagine at least 100 million for a lower league club, whilst you could buy us for a fraction of that and not have to spend money on the stadium etc. If I was a billionaire I would certainly be interested in a club like ours.

And Arsenal, Stoke, Newcastle, Spurs, West Ham and Bournmouth.

I thought Fat Mike Ashley wanted to sell the toon?

Not sure which thread to put this in (Owners/Administration), so it's now in both.

Been doing some middle of the night thinking re Holdsworth and his posse. We are told that there are only him and another group still looking into the takeover. I'm in the " don't trust Holdsworths lot cos he's a cockney wide boy" camp. BUT,

They have been in from day one, whilst "apparently" other groups (Thais, Greeks, Middle East and UK) have been in looked at the figures, coughed, shook their heads and walked off.

Now Holdsworth Inc have seen they same figures and are hanging around...

He/They are either complete mentalists that live in never never land, or there is some serious money in the background. I may be way off the mark here, but the current situation seems to be a bit poker player ish. Not showing hands etc.

The only way any club (as I see it) can turn a profit, is by getting into the Premier league. The only way to do that short/medium term is by investment, serious investment. The alternatives are paddling around the 1st and championship trying to invent a Blackpool/Burnley type promotion assault. Whichever way, if the running costs and figures are SO Bad.

Why is Holdsworth still hanging around?

I wanted a Golf gti , Dad, in laws, friends told me not to. It had been at the garage a few months and loads of people looked at it because it was a great price. They reduced it to tempt me.

I checked it over all looked fine..

It broke down soon as I bought it..

Don't shoot the messenger I heard that he's part of Holdsworths group as an investor and that group would have him as manager.

If true I'd be over the moon with that.

Sadly I've a feeling it's utter bollocks.

No investors that are serious would have a Manager as part of them

What happens if he's shit and needs sacking?

I am in the utter bolloxks camp but puzzled as to why he is at our games - its certainly not for the entertainment

I said exactly the same, (response was CEO gets sacked but still retain investment in said company)the lad who told me does have contacts and not a bullshitter, otherwise wouldn't have posted it.

Investor and manager, come off it.

I'm not saying he's not involved in some way, but nobody is going to be part of a consortium that owns us, as well as being our manager, there's too many potential conflicts.

While I agree with the sentiment mate, isn't Steve McLaren doing something similar like manager/director?

If he is at the game today you have to start wondering ha.

He doesn't live too far away does he?

Might be a closet Bolton Fan, or even working as a scout for other teams

Isn't moyes represented by sports shield?

Maybe they're inviting him along to boost their credibility or something

I've seen Moyes at Bolton a few times and even for pre-season friendlies. He lives not too far away but he probably gets given fine wine and top notch food

His daughter used to be 'friendly' with my nephew

Moyes will be scouting for a number of clubs - end of
