It's strange you slate Lennon so powerfully who's doing a job with little moral support or financial backing yet choose to defend the job done by Gartside which has brought us where we are today.

They got paid their fat wage cheques last month , chances are the £1000s players get last far longer than minimum wage staff get ..

it really should be irrelevant. A wage is a wage.

You are, of course, both correct.

But I'd wager than a 10% deferral of player salaries might cover all the staff wages.

The players wont be getting paid either. Unless something changes before their payday

If the players aren't paid this time does that now render their contracts null and void?

It may already be the case.

Just pay those we want to keep.

Just clough then :)

We paid them last month, so we are alreet

....well the PFA did :(

NL said that the money raised to pay the wages by the fans t'other week would be given to charity.

Could do with that now. Is there a reason the club just didn't keep it for the next rainy day?

Embarrassing.

Pretty much sums up my feelings.

So the bank account(s) have been frozen due to the winding up hearing. And we are applying to have them unfrozen tomorrow. Basically?

Standard practice when a WUP has been issued

I think so Carl.

It's all news to me, I know nothing about this area (clearly!). But no one mentioned this before this story broke. I find that staggering that no journo actually researched the effects of the order, despite the court hearing being postponed.

a court hearing to determine whether a company is solvent.

in other words, does it have enough funds to continue trading for the foreseeable future.

if not, a winding up petition will be served and the company forced to close.

it's to protect, employees, suppliers, hmrc etc.

Imagine you owe money you do not have the cash to pay your debts, so someone takes you court.

You admit you have no cash but you do have a nice car and a house that you are trying to sell

Court says ok you have some time to get rid, so next day you sell car for a fiver and house for a tenner to a mate, no one gets repaid.

To stop this you tell the court your assets and you need their permission to sell them and they verify you are getting a decent price, other option is that courts agree a minimum you can sell for or that you can sell for whatever price you want as long as debts are repaid.

The court may also block you taking cash out of the bank which might explain not paying the staff.

Lennon and some of his staff have has a whip round for some of the staff who didnt get paid

i wonder if staff includes players?

fair play to them anyway.

Even footballers aren't that thick to do a whip round to pay their own wages.

Aren't they??

Don't want to sound greedy but it might be nice if they start winning some football matches as well....:)

Then give there win bonus to the staff a win/ win

Peter Reid paid our gas bill when we were in administration.

Fans paid him back by buying him back his Cup winners medals he'd sold
