It's strange you slate Lennon so powerfully who's doing a job with little moral support or financial backing yet choose to defend the job done by Gartside which has brought us where we are today.

You are right I don't have the answers. You can easily contact those who could give you the answers instead of dismissing it

I have asked it every time someone from the Trust or who supports the Trusts mentions it, still no answer.

I like the of the Trust, but as I say seems not as important as more pressing matters.

not as important as more pressing matters.

This is probably the only one that's in your control though.

Not necessarily, the 2970 who've joined up could pitch in with £5k each, that's fifteen million quid, should see us right 'til June...

Failing that, perm six hundred of the 'handiest'and scary looking of the trust to pay a visit to Euxton and threaten the players with grevious bodily harm unless they buck up...

The same bunch could also take the packet steamer over to Th'Isle of Man, point out to Edwin that houses accidentally burn down to the ground all the time, unless...

This is probably the only one that's in your control though.

I could any number of organisations but not sure why I would.

My only point is I do not understand what a supporters trust is going to do, I keep asking but no one has explained. I am one of these leftie types that love the idea of the 'people' being in charge but how do we expect any one to stump up £20m to save the club if after doing that a couple of thousand people who have paid a tenner expect to them how to run the club ?

It ain't being a smart arse it is the opposite I just do not understand.

I don't fully grasp it. Traf in the other thread has offered a decent explanation. Read in full, but a few quotes may help ..

....they want to be in a position down the line so that IF there becomes a need for money to be raised to try to purchase a share of the club, then they'll be able to sell community shares.....

....If club went into admin, Football League rules state a Trust must be approached by administrator.

They need numbers to prove to them that they are a viable option.

fair point then.

Worrying part though is that a plan might be on fans paying money, Facebook likes don't equate to real money and getting fans to couch up money might not work out..

The idea is good though if that's the intent

i think anis point may be a viable option to do what

what is the administrator 'approaching' them to do

Yep all valid points - like I say I don't fully grasp it, but whatever "it" is they approach the trust with, I just hope it's more transparent, whether it will give a voice, steer, direction or influence only time will tell. It's one small positive for now so I'm happy to give it my backing.

3 outcomes

They have a stronger voice for supporters into the club with the numbers

They have a seat on the board under the new owner to do the same as above

If no succesful bidder and we go in admin they have an opportunity to run the club

I would like to understand the process of this steering group on how they decide who they think can offer value going forward.

Also i presume they provide us with candidates for this new group and we eventually vote them in through the trust members (i.e. us)

Is the 48 hours up today?

Or will ED wait for the anniversary of Nat's death?

A no news day?

Hand grenade time.

A merger with the bucket shakers. Ainsworth to be redeveloped with a thirty thousand seat stadium for South Lancs fc. The old Bury line to be reconnected so the flying Scotsman can take fans there

Today's the day

Well hopefully by 6pm,we will all know a lot more about OUR club.

It is unbelievable that it has come to this.

Phil Gartside , Eddie Davies and the board are masters of smoke and mirrors.

A COMPLETE DISASTER.

PS. See you all in the ESL tomorrow.

One presumes it's still on as we have heard nothing to the contrary, apart from rumours that we will have more time.

Do we need the popcorn gif for today then?

This is terrible day for the club and has been coming for a long time. When Burnden Leisure was set up I foolishly

bought £500 of shares, not as an investment I just wanted to be part of the club. As I shareholder I received the Accounts each year and they have been a horror story from day 1. It is most likely, but not guaranteed, that we will get further time following today's hearing. However, there isn't a viable business model we were always gambling that we could stay up and get the TV money.

I am sure the football club can continue in some form, but it will be unlikely to ever be a top flight club again. Things have been bleak before I first started going to games in Division 3, but we were lucky to have Jimmy Armfield as manager. We have been unlucky in having a series a managers who have not been good enough, but now you need more than luck you need a vast amount of money.

Do we need the popcorn gif for today then?

A must have
