frank_spencer Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I'm saying beggars can't be choosers. Proper strikers cost money, even in this league. He hasn't had proper money. And please don't bother saying How do I know money isn't available? Like someone did earlier in the season. We have moved past that now, we are bottom of the league, no hope and totally skint. The players he inherited are crap and he hasn't been given anything like enough money to do anything about itHe has had money but he's spent it on players he won't play Quote
e2e4 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Sacking Lennon is the only choice he's fucking useless he's signed 4 strikers and none of them any good a complete new defence and still we lose I will say it again 1 win in 19 no other ma anger would survive no matter what the excuse. Coyle must be close with that, look at these from transfermarkt.co.uk , about 6 wins in 15 months from the united 0-1 home defeat in march 2011 til the relegation 2-2 at stoke. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/owen-coyle/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/4121/plus/1?saison_id=&verein_id=355&liga=&wettbewerb_id=&trainer_id=/ Fuckin' Hellfire ! snowball Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 4 of his summer signings can't get in the side 2 right backs and 2 centre half's. Bin those 4 off and perhaps he could afford a striker. Mjalby seems to be the biggest miss this season. When he was here we couldn't score in a brothel since he left we can't defend for shit. Doesn't work like that does it? Supposing he needed the money at the actual time a decent striker was available, which he would. All the decent strikers he's been in for and none happened because we couldn't afford them. 2 right backs and two centre halfs doesn't necessarily equal one decent striker anyway. Perhaps Lennon was forced to gamble on them because they were cheap and the full backs and centre half he inherited were crap? Quote

Spider Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 On the plus side, we've lost that annoying habit we had last season of conceding last minute equalisers. Gallows humour I know, but I've just laughed my cock off at this Quote
snowball Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 He has had money but he's spent it on players he won't play O please pull the other one. I realise you want to defend Gartside and Davies to the death but how much has Lennon had to spend? Not enough for a decent striker. How Do I know that? Because of all the deals that have fallen through at various late stages for a DECENT striker, they cost real money not buttons.More than an Italian pub player out of contract or a cheap loan deal for a second division French player or someone Rotherham took look at and didn't want, that's for sure. Lennon has had Money? I give up. Give him some proper backing and then slag him off. Quote

HomerJay Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 oh and feeney. the busiest fool on a football pitch, ever liam, if you were aware of teammates running and moving around around, you would not have to work so hard to try and put a cross in the box. also, the strikers may half a chance know when the ball actually going to come into to the box. Blondi Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Another dreadful defensive performance. Lennon signed Prince(loan) Derik, Pisano & Wilson, but why didn't they play today? I don't trust Lennon in making us better with his signings even if a takeover happens and he's given funds. I've already resigned myself to relegation, which I did a few weeks ago, I can handle relegation, but I don't want us to go into administration, which isn't a surprise. Let's just hope whoever takes us over (fingers crossed) Eddie & his advisors have done their homework on the potential new owners and we can start again from league 1 with new owners that have a sensible business plan for a change. Guest Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 The idea that we just throw some money at Lennon and see what happens is exactly how we've ended up in this mess thanks to Megson, Coyle and Freedman spending decreasing amounts of money badly. Lennon hasn't has a penny, but the wages he's dished out to frees haven't exactly looked like a good use of what was there. If new owners come in and have any money for the strengthening of the team I think we need a fresh start with a manager they believe in. Not just giving Lennon whatever there is as some sort of experiment. Learn from past mistakes and move on time. Quote

Lennon has had Money? I give up. Give him some proper backing and then slag him off. So a striker will demand more in wages than 4 other players? Lennon has had his hands tied by the restrictions in budget, but his record operating within those limits isn't good enough. If the centre halves and right backs he inherited weren't good enough so he brought in players to replace them, and they're sat collecting splinters on a match day, he hasn't done a good enough job. Leyther_Matt Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Lennon has bugger all experience of working with players who've forgotten how to win, or making the most of every penny, so it's little surprise our 11 pisspots aren't turning in to bottles of wine. Can't see how he's going to have a sniff of turning it round, nor getting us back up next season. Trouble is, I don't see how we can possibly afford to fire him off, nor indeed who would even make that decision, not to mention select his replacement. We're doomed. Quote
Blondi Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Lennon moaned about not being able to sign Tony Watt on loan from Charlton in his post match interview, because of a lack of funds and he said Watt didn't command big wages. Well don't sign players that you're not going to play or are just plain crap and you would no doubt have had the funds to buy a goal scorer like Watt. Quote
