Heard over Xmas that Russian spy ships had been escorted by the British navy out of our waters on a concerningly frequent basis.

 

I have no idea what they are up to but up to something they clearly are - how Trump fits in with all this I'm not sure but my guess is that he was used by Russia rather than colluded with them.

The russian ships are officially in international waters but very close to UK territory. Our ships are monitoring as a matter of standard procedure.

 

Russia is actually, despite its vast size, very short of decent naval ports, so they have to go from northern ports most of the time which are usually frozen in winter.

 

Their navy is a weak spot compared with their ground and air capabilities.

 

Putin would love to get a former Soviet state like Latvia or Lithuania back.

I think he clearly understands what he’s doing there’s no hidden agendas he’s upfront with what he says and says it as as he sees it and therefore no mixed messages for other leaders, it’s reaping rewards whether you like it or not.

What I'd heard (on a late night BBC radio news broadcast) was that what you describe is the norm but more ships than usual had been entering British waters that were thought/known(?) to be carrying spy equipment.

 

The report said at least one, but may have been more - can't remember, had physically been escorted away.

His wife was in floods of tears apparently when he got in - I'd guess she wasn't that keen on having to be publicly accountable for every single thing in her life and was in a state of shock.

 

It's interesting seeing what happens as I see modern politics as a bit shite; if he can get in and improve things for those that voted for him then, well in a very bizarre turn of events, he'll have restored my faith!

Doubt that, did you see that C4 documentary on him? He wouldn't have done it if he didn't think he'd win or at least try to - he knocked back the opportunity in 2000 and 2012 for that reason

Can you imagine it? All the dark forces lined up against him - wanky over rated and over paid celebs; so called authors stretching the truth and down right lying; the American left and their sympathisers around the world - all pulling every single stroke their fertile imaginations can muster to try to discredit the bloke and it all having been for nought.

 

The wailing and gnashing of teeth if he were to be re-elected would be an absolute delight to witness. The horror of them losing an election after being 100% convinced that they would win in a canter would probably make our Remoaners look like half a dozen grumbling grannies at a sub standard WI bake off.

Not only have measures taken by Trump kick started their (and consequently everyone else's) economy, his policies now have the two Korea's talking to each other with a chance of collaboration for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

 

He'll have detente developing between the Jewish people and the Arabs next once the initial kerfuffle has died down. You watch.
