Site Supporter Spider Posted January 6, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted January 6, 2018 Heard over Xmas that Russian spy ships had been escorted by the British navy out of our waters on a concerningly frequent basis. I have no idea what they are up to but up to something they clearly are - how Trump fits in with all this I'm not sure but my guess is that he was used by Russia rather than colluded with them. They seem sneaky as fook . . . Not quite true The russian ships are officially in international waters but very close to UK territory. Our ships are monitoring as a matter of standard procedure. Russia is actually, despite its vast size, very short of decent naval ports, so they have to go from northern ports most of the time which are usually frozen in winter. Their navy is a weak spot compared with their ground and air capabilities. Putin would love to get a former Soviet state like Latvia or Lithuania back. I think he clearly understands what he’s doing there’s no hidden agendas he’s upfront with what he says and says it as as he sees it and therefore no mixed messages for other leaders, it’s reaping rewards whether you like it or not. What I'd heard (on a late night BBC radio news broadcast) was that what you describe is the norm but more ships than usual had been entering British waters that were thought/known(?) to be carrying spy equipment. The report said at least one, but may have been more - can't remember, had physically been escorted away.

Site Supporter Spider Posted January 6, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted January 6, 2018 It is starting to look like he had no intention of becoming president and is just taking the piss now because he fluked it. He has nothing to lose by acting however he fucking well likes - he’s hardly going to end up on the streets. However, I’ve got this sneaky feeling he might last 4 years and somehow come out of it unscathed. Doubt he’d fancy 8 years. Either that or we’ll all be living under a nuclear sky by 2020
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 6, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted January 6, 2018 According to one report, the boost in trading since trump came to power is over 20%. At a similar stage after Obama's election they had gone up over 40%. There's always one report contradicting another; its seemingly impossible to make an informed judgement as the what is reality. The only thing I can be sure of is what I see- and unless its all a very clever act, then he's a not right. A spoiled brat used to getting his own way. Etc... Not saying that means he won't make a good president but let's be honest, it isn't looking good is it?

Haters gotta hate and all that but it would be sort of delicious if he was to get a second term. The odious fuckers like Ashley Judd would probably implode. I'd like to see that. Members bolty58
Rational evaluation yeah? You could go around and spray a cross through "Magic mushrooms free and easy", leave the 'yeah' and become as famous as Mat BWFC with that one. I am sure Donald Trump will be quaking in his Gucci's at the thought of disapproval from the Cheshire set.

No he hasn't, all we have seen in the past 12 months is a raise in the stock markets on the back of pro-business legislation.

Heard something recently that suggested he had never thought he would actually win and was looking to play the martyr after the election and use it to enhance the Trump name etc. I kind of get that sense. His wife was in floods of tears apparently when he got in - I'd guess she wasn't that keen on having to be publicly accountable for every single thing in her life and was in a state of shock. It's interesting seeing what happens as I see modern politics as a bit shite; if he can get in and improve things for those that voted for him then, well in a very bizarre turn of events, he'll have restored my faith! Doubt that, did you see that C4 documentary on him? He wouldn't have done it if he didn't think he'd win or at least try to - he knocked back the opportunity in 2000 and 2012 for that reason It looked like obama mocking him at a Whitehouse dinner and everyone laughing at him was the final push he needed to go for it

Not many politicians do as they promise, at least he’s following up on some of his Can you imagine it? All the dark forces lined up against him - wanky over rated and over paid celebs; so called authors stretching the truth and down right lying; the American left and their sympathisers around the world - all pulling every single stroke their fertile imaginations can muster to try to discredit the bloke and it all having been for nought. The wailing and gnashing of teeth if he were to be re-elected would be an absolute delight to witness. The horror of them losing an election after being 100% convinced that they would win in a canter would probably make our Remoaners look like half a dozen grumbling grannies at a sub standard WI bake off. I do hope you're right mate. The entertainment value would be immense.
