Former presidents using a funeral as a platform to have sligh digs at DT. Surely if JM was as good as people are now making him out to be he would have had a pop at being a president....guess what, he didn’t get a pop! Quote

I see it as showing that you can have a disagreement about politics - without having to question the other person's character or integrity. You can even admire them. And I imagine that's why John McCain asked Obama to speak at his funeral. Quote

Obama changed or achieved nothing. I'll raise your Rump with a Bollock Obama Before you blow your fucking fuses again - I do agree with you that not attending McCains funeral was probably a mistake both tactically and on a human level. You can despise someones politics but still respect them as a person. McCain was certainly a US war hero and should have received respect for that alone. Edited September 2, 2018 by bolty58 Quote

They’ll be saying how disrespectful he is because he went for a round of golf whilst the funeral was taking place, obviously he will give zero fucks Quote

Surely if JM was as good as people are now making him out to be he would have had a pop at being a president....guess what, he didn’t get a pop! He did stand for the Republican ticket against Bush jnr in 2000. After McCain won the New Hampshire, and Bush realised how vulnerable he was on their military records, they simply spewed disgraceful fake news to sweep the Southern states and ensure the nomination. (see several pages above for more details). Oh, and is this the same McCain who said "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran"? Quote
Not in Crawley Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) It’s also the same McCain who said he’d got it wrong on Iraq. I’m not wholesale defending him, just your last sentence doesn’t paint the full picture. He wasn’t a saint, but the ability to apologise on holding a position that has shown to be wrong seems to be a forgotten quality in today’s political landscape. What an amateur. You'd be very get any of that bollocks from DT. He'd just wing it in his own inimitable way. 'Let me tell you. Me and John had the best friendship, I was like really his best friend. A special friend. It was really tremendous. Probably the best friendship ever. Everybody knew that, really the best kind of friends. And I have a lot of friends, probably more friends than anyone has had before. People say Hillary Clinton had a lot of friends, well let me tell you, I've got ten times more friends. And they're better people. Really the best people. Everybody knows this. It's a fact people. Make no mistake, those scumbags from the fake news media who try to say that I don't have all these great friends. Fake news. Just look at their ratings. Really they have the worst numbers, just the worst. They're enedcucated. I love uneducated people. But these ones are just liars and I'm gonna do something about it let me tell you.' Quote

Has this bloke got any track history? Certainly doesn't warrant anywhere near the amount of attention it's receiving in my opinion. Quote

Seems John McCain's daughter was also using her father's funeral 'to have sly digs at DT' "We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness. "The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who live lives of comfort and privilege while he suffered and served. "The America of John McCain is generous and welcoming and bold, she is resourceful and confident and secure, she meets her responsibilities, she speaks quietly because she is strong.
