land_and_sea Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Sad. First saw them in Buffallo in 1981. A mate of mine worked as a roadie for them. RIP Lemmy. Quote

MancWanderer Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 How he made it to 70 I'll never know Loudest band I ever heard - BIT late 70s Quote
ChippyTea Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Legend. Won't be another like him. RIP Quote
oggybwfc Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I remember a journalist once asked him "Does it bother you that all these beautiful women only sleep with you because you're a rock star?" Lemmy just looked at him and laughed. Quote
only1swanny Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Saw them about ten years back at the apollo. Amazing.. He only turned 70 a few days ago. Good innings for someone with his lifestyle Quote
no balls Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 He clearly had a good time, fair fucks for making 70. You only live once & who wants to go to heaven anyway. Quote
fester58 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 the word legend is banded about far to often these days, but to me lemmy was a rock legend who lived the lifestyle to the extreme. r.i.p lemmy. Quote
Boo Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Lemmy..."why do I smoke and drink so much? Well, have you ever seen a smiling jogger?" Classic! Edited December 29, 2015 by Boo Quote
bgoefc Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Saddened! One of my 70's idols. Seventy on xmas eve, diagnosed with cancer boxing day and died this morning playing his favourite video game. Died as he lived, in the fast lane. RIP. Quote
Sweep Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Anybody who can carry this look off is a legend as far as I'm concerned Edited December 29, 2015 by Sweep Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Anybody who can carry this look off is a legend as far as I'm concerned Not sure about the shorts, but whatever floats yer boat an' all that. Quote
Andydee Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 One that can rightly be called a legend. First saw Motorhead at KGH Blackburn in 1980, mates girlfriend handed out cotton wool to Mrs Dee to put in her ears...probably the reason why I'm a bit mutt and jeff and Mrs Dee isn't. Saw them 5 years ago at Manc Apollo on the 35th Anniversary tour, quieter but still belted it out at 65. Silver Machine was also permanently blasting out from my silver Viva HC in the 70's. Quote

Salford Trotter Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 To find out about your cancer then die two days later is staggeringly quick...an old colleague of mine complained of back ache just before Christmas a few years back and was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 4 weeks later...a beautiful soul taken too soon Quote
no balls Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 To find out about your cancer then die two days later is staggeringly quick...an old colleague of mine complained of back ache just before Christmas a few years back and was diagnosed with cancer and passed away 4 weeks later...a beautiful soul taken too soon my father was diagnosed Christmas and died at the beginning of April. It felt like longer at times but I do feel for those who suffer for years when they should still be having a full life. Quote
frank_spencer Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 My personal favourite. One of the few times you and I will be on the same page but that is still one of my favourite songs and not just by Motorhead Quote
