January 6, 201610 yr I was there tonight, just got back home. I voted yes of course, why not, the least risky yes vote in history at this stage. Many commented prior to the meeting that it's a sideshow to the events of the here and now and it is really, but it was heartening to see so many who actually care and quite inspiring to hear the stories of the Portsmouth "guys". More resigned than ever to thinking we're gearing towards administration and League One life though. The timing of it meant many probably came with the expectation that it would be a briefing and Q&A about the current situation so I'm not surprised some used it as a soapbox when they got the chance to speak, it's probably the first chance they've had to vent about it. Some didn't half make me cringe though. Giving Boltonians a microphone is always a gamble; Rioch & McGinlay in... wow. I didn't come away feeling energised or mobilised, just feeling like it was an obvious choice to make. Course I want to help the club I support in any way I can. Now, back to thinking about a fire sale and 12 point deduction...

Did the roomful of folk saying aye mean the wheels would be placed in motion, our was out thing to happen anyway? The size of venue, numbers etc had no bearing, just a majority vote? Was it q&a/intros, offer a glimmer of hope, now gizza a quid for the room?
January 7, 201610 yr I found the quid thing strange. they told us the club had been accommodating, insisting they use the platinum suite etc, offering a bigger room as it became obvious it was needed. The impression given was that it was free. Then at the end, they claimed to have paid out of their own pockets and can you give us a quid? A quid is fuck all, but it was hardly a transparent start. I'd have expected them to get the room for free on the proviso BWFC were making money on a bar that is normally shut on a Janaury Wednesday evening.

I've no issue with BWFCST covering their costs, especially as that's what has led us to the current position. It was just not handled as well as I'm sure it will be next time. To get the whole thing organised so quickly was good work and hopefully a good sign for the future.

January 7, 201610 yr I thought it was a fairly go meeting, great to see the turnout, but came away knowing more about the running of Portsmouth Football club than I own. Says a lot really.
January 7, 201610 yr If this becomes an important part of the ownership and running of BWFC, then we will need quality and competence, along with constituency. WW is, they say, the largest forum, so assume constituency. From the folks I know on here, there is plenty of quality and competence. Do we need to ready ourselves by having our own election? I think that we are smart enough to avoid a popularity contest. How best to organise?
