Rizlar Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 A fitting tribute to Phil 5 minutes round of applause from all us fans. Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) A fitting tribute to Phil 5 minutes round of applause from all us fans. 2 minutes surely enough? Start clapping 63rd minute? Edited February 10, 2016 by Mounts Kipper Quote
bwfc2003 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I would have thought the club would organise a fitting tribute pre-match Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 2 minutes on 88 minutes (he joined the club in 1988). Added bonus of making everyone stay til the end. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Minute's silence would be most appropriate. Don't think we could trust some of our fans to do it though. Very sad. Quote
Horwich Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 They should also keep trevor birch out of PGs seat Quote
Ani Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Just put a shirt on his seat with a minutes applause, we are not fucking scousers. If a few ex players wanna turn up too excellent. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Just put a shirt on his seat with a minutes applause, we are not fucking scousers. If a few ex players wanna turn up too excellent. Good idea. Interesting that both Gudni and Muamba were there Saturday. Quote
clown Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Just put a shirt on his seat with a minutes applause, we are not fucking scousers By the grace of God. I prefer a minutes silence myself, but ultimately I'll quietly raise a plastic glass at half time with our bunch. Quote
Dr Faustus Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 By the grace of God. I prefer a minutes silence myself, but ultimately I'll quietly raise a plastic glass at half time with our bunch. Agreed In an ideal world the club would be able to give a drinks token on arrival, everyone raise a glass, and get a few more in Hopefully grief will galvanise spirits Quote
bolton va va Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 A pre match minute's silence would be my choice too.....a short time to reflect on our loss & show a bit of respect, rather than clapping like seals at some gimmicky time because some simpletons can't be trusted to keep quiet. Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Minutes silence for me or 2 minutes I'm not into this applause on some random minute it's the same as every fucking overpaid premier league twat pointing to the sky when they score showing their "human" side or worse still rambling some bollox at the sky whilst holding there hands to heaven whilst walking on the pitch vein gob shites ........ Oooh needed that off me chest Edited February 11, 2016 by onlyoneawalker Quote
Casino Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Silence for me too If folk can't be quiet or wait outside til it's over I don't want to stand beside them Quote
The Wanderer Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Tribute on the big screen showing our rise from promotion season to Europe and the players he brought to our club, followed by a minutes silence. Raising a glass at half time is a great shout too. Quote
Cheese Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Agree with the general consensus here. A minutes silence, and some photo's on the big phone in the corner. I also like the idea of a shirt in his seat to be honest. Been choked up a few times reading some comments here today. He was Bolton through-and-through, and that's all that should matter to us as fans at the moment. He was one of us. Quote
Dr Faustus Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Random flash back; either Tranmere or WBA at home in turn of millennium semi... A patron of ESL had recently passed, a packed stand, yet black ribbon around a seat impeccably respected. Sorry, not entirely relevant, but reminded me of a moment of dignified respect. Horses for courses; we all say goodbye in our different ways. This isn't a piss up for one of the boys, not a 'celebration', this is paying respect, and saying a dignified thanks... Genuinely hope I have articulated this. I think each to a man would agree with the sentiments shown. Would like to think away fans do too... Is it Burnley btw? Quote
Dr Faustus Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 QPR 20th FebNo reason for it not to be impeccably observed then Quote
MancWanderer Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Silence - a minute's reflection Applause - a minute's thanks Really doesn't matter at the end of the day. It's not worth arguing about. Whatever is decided just go with it for fuck's sake. A White has passed away. And a significant one at that Quote
Dr Faustus Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Not arguing pal. Don't think anyone is. Were in this together Quote
Zico Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I prefer applause miself I didn't know him, he was "just" a chairman, but I'd like to thank him I mean the "just" with the greatest respect But when it's silence I just end up thinking about something else Quote
Con Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I'm in the silence camp, before kick off. The shirt on his chair is a great idea also as a focal point. Anybody who cant have a bit of dignity and keep their mouths shut really need to take a look at themselves. Nice to see Allardyce pay tribute this evening as well. Quote
