jules_darby Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 This is the most tedious and elongated saga that I can remember to appoint a new Manager Hopefully it's because we are being extra diligent about our choice and not because the conditions are scaring the best choices off / KA and DH are arguing Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 The bookies have no more idea than the rest if us.weve had at least 6 favourites now. Quote
Dan.m Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Did we get rid of our physio in the recent cull? Adkins is a university educated physiotherapist. It's all in the masterplan. Quote
Plums Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 The bookies have no more idea than the rest if us.weve had at least 6 favourites now.Doesn't matter they're making a mint... Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 The Bolton news now mentioning just 2 options Adkins and Cotterill probably rules them 2 out. Quote
frank_spencer Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 As long as the boss is in place by the start of July when the players return to training then the delay doesn't strike me as too worrying. Yes I'd have loved to have the manager in place much much earlier. But times are shit so we have to roll with it. Quote
Carlos Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I honestly think far too many people are wired wrong, like the new owners have come in, pressed ctrl-alt-del and rebooted the club. We were within minutes of being liquidated, that means ceasing to exist. Only the good grace of the judge and persuasive skills of our legal team saved us, Eddie had switched off the life support system. Rejoice in being here at all, manager or not. Quote

You are forgetting the magic administration reset button that would have left us debt free and meant a takeover from a multi billionaire was on the cards.... Quote
mannyroad58 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I really don't get why people are all shitting themselves that a manager isn't in place yet, if KA and the rest had appointed someone straight away then they would've been criticized for not taking their time over it and making the right decision for the club, if that is what they're doing then as far as I'm concerned they can take as long as they want, it's not like there's no ex manager available out there FFS, the football world is full of them Quote
kent_white Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I'd sooner they waited 6 weeks and got someone compo free and saving wages in the process than had them in at the earliest opportunity, twiddling their thumbs while the players are away on their jollies. Part of me still thinks Peter Reid is going to get it. Quote
clown Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Only Horwich is who has a few grand on every horse in the race...... Quote
DirtySanchez Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) I'd sooner they waited 6 weeks and got someone compo free and saving wages in the process than had them in at the earliest opportunity, twiddling their thumbs while the players are away on their jollies. Part of me still thinks Peter Reid is going to get it. Wouldn't they just get someone on a pre-contract agreement if that was the case? I just hope they don't go Blackpool style and only get players (if we can afford) at the last minute to save paying them to do nothing over the summer and then be left with whatever is in bargain basement having had little pre-season training Edited June 7, 2016 by DirtySanchez Quote
Guest Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I don't think the issue is having a manager or not. It is that not appointing one after 12 weeks doesn't inspire confidence that the new owners can improve the on field results next season. No manager, still under embargo and no visible sign of real progress. I'm sure that behind the scenes lots is happening but cannot blame fans for wondering why things are moving so slowly. Especially as the owners have previously said they want a manager in place quickly. Quote
tarian1979 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Weve no chance of going up. Charlton 12-1 be punting on those. Slade be useful manager. Budget be decent at this level Quote

Ani Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Also a bit harsh to blame the fans when the club have issued statements that an appointment was close and nothing has happened. Quote
Blondi Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Unless I'm reading Mark Iles's tweets wrong, our next manager will either be Adkins or Cotterill. Quote
jagermoot Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Any updates from the Bolton Evening Speculation? Quote
Rizlar Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I wonder if the assistant manager is Kevin Nolan? Quote
