League One - The Positives

tLooks like Oldham are safe - so a reunion with Battle of Burnden '97 punkin' instigator John Sheridan is on the cards.

What are the others positives?

You're not allowed to say we might be in with a chance of the odd win cos it's too obvious.

Fire away lads/ladies.

This link will remind you of the BWFC you remember.

This is a chance out new era of supporter to experience the utter joy of a meteoric rise as we did in the nineties.   Cup runs, underdogs, backs to the wall, seige mentality.   New heroes will em

  • I think some of you lot think relegation comes with a flux capacitor and we'll go back to the 80s fv   It'll be just as sterile and policed as the championship

  • Been there, done that, more than once. No positives.

I'm sure I've still got a 'the only way is up' t-shirt somewhere.

we had caldwell, oghani and chandler who got 60 between em and just survived

theres more to this than a goalscorer

Between 83-87 was fucking awful watching Bolton in Div 3. Just a good piss up in the towns we went at the time.

Stranger things have happened. You never know - new manager, lower league, better service. He might do OK? On the other hand he might continue to be a big fanny...

Madine can fook right off. His attitude is shocking. Poxey Moxey, Wheater, Pratley, Mark Davies in particular you should hold your heads in shame.

The Bolton Bury Facebook banter page is a plus it's like shelling peas winding the thick bury fuckers up.

just seen it, some serious bitterness on there

Defo belongs in 80s and wrong thread

Remember this game at port vale well

Lovely day out

We definitely need some old head cloggers that in turn are leaders on and off the pitch. We have been truly rudderless this season. I just want to see some fight in this team regardless of what division we are in.

Bring back Kev Nolan as a player, make him captain. Only if he will take a grand a week though haha

I watched Nolan at Accrington in League Two the other week.

I reckon he'd be stealing a living if he was on a grand a year.

That's not to say he'll not make a good manager, though.

Sounds fair enough, we need to play our part buy season tickets and back the club to the hilt, if you have issues regarding whats gone on in the past put them behind you and support the club it is important we get as many lapsed fans back on board. As the going says once in never out now lets all prove that.

We've been characterless & leaderless & lacking in physicality & fitness on the pitch for a few years.

Re StevieB's post, can walk to Oldham game, live in Royton, just haven't worked out how to change my profile name to the equally imaginative IanofRoyton!

Chairman speaks well, nothing in there to crib about, sound words but no promises, as much detail and transparency as can be expected.

Going to be hard going all those new grounds for the next generation of Bolton fans, plenty of obstacles on the way.

On step at a time owd son - I doubt we can hope to get may lapsed fans on from the off; the main thing is to keep hold of the ones who stuck with it and stop them lapsing. Get off to a good start, and if it's apparent we're making a go of it by Xmas, then we can hope to bring people back into the fold.

I was in the stand that afternoon at Port Vale, took a mate from school who was a red, he couldn't believe what he was seeing when the odd seat went flying into the terrace below

The people saying it's going to be good are the same deluded twats who banged on that it would be great getting relegated from the premier to the championship, because 'great days out, we'll win more games'. Well we didn't, in fact we got tonked by the mighty Rotherham, and now look up longingly at the likes of Preston, and Bristol city. I guess the same people prefer watching Madine to Campo. I've seen us lose to Aldershot, the 80's were the dregs, no matter what beer and rose tinted specs you're currently wearing. Sorry, I wish there were some positives to cling on to, but call a spade a spade

Yeah, it's likely to be shit... But the day we stop looking forward with hope is the day we should all pack it in.

Associate Members Cup may be woeful, but it isn't beneath us- how many did Southampton take to Wembley?

The positive for me is that we still have a club to support. Piss poor players will come and (thankfully) go, but, by the skin of our teeth, were still here.

We can't take that for granted.

So, yeah, I'm looking forward to next season. Couldn't give a shit who and where we are playing... And I'm not overly mithered who is in the shirt, as long as they take pride in it. We'll be there, looking forward to it

it does seem pretty obvious, doesnt it

theres no logic to being a football fan

its just blind faith and hope

otherwisde, as you say, why fcuking bother

Will go loads next season, got a spring in my step again.

Biggest youth following out of all the four English divisions

I hope so, with all the pasting's we give out in the 80s on our trecks. Going to be tough for the old ones now, please look after us yoof. :)

If it's the same yoof I've seen in recent weeks then the old heads best get in fight training or take up running.

My highlight was the 30s odd lads on bolton train station scared of about 6 student type burnley fans on the train on their way to manc, throwing small change from a distance whilst hiding behind a toothless middle aged fella who enjoyed punching the train.

Spotted the same toothless fella and his sidekick prowling round outside the NSL looking angry the following home game.
