  • He'd be fit as a fiddle if the game was televised.

Yes me the mentality has to change its best we start ASAP. The effort and application today sounded excellent I'll have to settle for that.

  • I'm still at "they can all fuck the fucking fuck off" I'm afraid.

I've no problem with the kids or the effort in fairness today. Did well to hold out as long as they did - I'm just bloody frustrated with how the season has gone.

This Tyler Garrett kid, can't say I know much about - has anyone seen much of him and is he any good?

i get you mounts, but most of these players won't be around next season and neither will the management set up

not sure about holding and clough

Played alright, threw it away. Battled well and could have won it. Fat frank and his cronies being humiliated by a Welsh girl was the highlight.

Great goal by Clough. Looks like he could've had a couple more too.

Amos at fault for the equaliser. Should've done better imo.

Aren't Maher & Woolery out of contract in the summer? Not too sure whether we'll be keeping Woolery, Maher a maybe.

Think we have 1 yr options on both Holding and Woolery but can't remember where I read it.

Cracking goal by Clough!

Amos needs a personal plumber

I think we have an option on Holding, not too fussed about Woolery, especially with us reducing our squad to around 24 players or so.

At the risk of sounding a bit Sammy Lee, i'm taking a few positives out of this game with a lot of our young players clearly putting up a good fight against better opposition than we'll be playing next season. The trick will be to keep or bring in the right experienced players to balance the side.

fwiw I think Woolery could be very useful alongside a target man next season.

TBH, I actually feel a bit more confident today even though we lost. Maybe if we can keep hold of our youngsters like Holding, Clough, Maher, Threlkeld & Vela for next season, then we can start to rebuild. It'll be interesting to see if all of the above mentioned play together in our final games and see if our performances pick up.

Heskey or madine?

I think Madine has quite a good record in the 3rd tier . If we can get better for free & on low wages, we should, but if not i'd stick with Madine.

If Heskey is willing to stay for next to nothing, i'd keep him but at 38 he's not going to be able to play many games.

Do you think we can keep hold of Clough next season? Not getting ahead of myself as he's had 2 OK games in a row.

That's twice Woolery not took the shot on with his left foot. Nothing annoys me more than 1 footed players. On the plus side he's got serious pace.

I was gonna write exactly the same thing

In the financial position we're in, my guess is that we'd accept any offers over £1m. I'd be tempted not to play him again this season to keep him out of the public eye now that he's finding some form again, & hope that he's still with us next season.

Great goal and as much of a traditionalist as I am I like the all white kit fuck it new start all round - Clough looked a bit thicker set to me but as I've just been prescribed varifuckingfocals I could be mixing him up with God knows who - Garrett where does he usually play can't even remember seeing him on a stiffs team sheet

One thing's for sure, can't see us having Clough, Woolery, Clayton and Madine (if he gets his wish according to the other thread and stays) next season.

And Clough is the most likely to attract interest.

Clayton keep forgetting him god I hope he gets fit and isn't just another mavies

From the highlights that's encouraging

And the most encouraging bit? Maher's sending off.

Young lad, committed to the his team wanting to win the ball.

Moxey, Madine, Davies et al  would have shit out of that challenge. That's the sort of commitment we're going to need next season.

In fairness to Mark Davies, he's been available this season more than any other I can remember in his time with us.

It's also fair to say he's been a worse player this season than any other I can remember in his time with us.

Maher showed he cared, stupid challenge but prepared to forgive him for the passion he has shown, if these lads stick together and show the love and passion they showed today it might be a way back, Clough and Holding are the leaders we need both to stay and build a team around them.
