April 23, 201610 yr From the highlights that's encouraging And the most encouraging bit? Maher's sending off. Young lad, committed to the his team wanting to win the ball. Moxey, Madine, Davies et al would have shit out of that challenge. That's the sort of commitment we're going to need next season. Maher showed he cared, stupid challenge but prepared to forgive him for the passion he has shown, if these lads stick together and show the love and passion they showed today it might be a way back, Clough and Holding are the leaders we need both to stay and build a team around them.
April 23, 201610 yr Encouraging performance going off the highlights, but how can almost the same team that couldn't kick a ball on Tuesday put in a performance like that ? Is it a shop window thing ?
April 23, 201610 yr What's Amos actually going for the pen? He dives after it goes in. Looks like a piss take.
April 23, 201610 yr In fairness to Mark Davies, he's been available this season more than any other I can remember in his time with us. It's also fair to say he's been a worse player this season than any other I can remember in his time with us. Best not to play him again this season, otherwise he'll do his knee ligaments and we'll be lumbered with his 18K a week wages for another 12 months!
April 23, 201610 yr Best not to play him again this season, otherwise he'll do his knee ligaments and we'll be lumbered with his 18K a week wages for another 12 months! Agreed, he's definitely due a bad 'un going off his past record.
April 23, 201610 yr In all my time following the Wanderers. I don't think I've been less interested in one of our matches than I have been today. The thing is, besides the FA Cup semi, I don't know any result from any other game in the country today. Cricket and rugby union has overrun my football interest. April 23, 201610 yr I'm still at "they can all fuck the fucking fuck off" I'm afraid. Apart from the younger players who we might make something of, with good coaching, this is where i'm at.
April 23, 201610 yr with the greatest respect to our young players, i hope they come through.. but.. anyone 40 plus will remember the following ,which were the future rudge , joice thompson oghani and many others i think we are in for many years of lower league football. how many more red and blue manc shirts will fill our town. we are fucked.
April 24, 201610 yr Have to counter the last miserable fucker. We have descended into the depths before and always come back. History and tradition count for a lot. Better days ahead. KTF.
April 24, 201610 yr Aye and anyone a bit older can remember Jones P. Jones G. McCallister. Siddall. Waldron and Whatmore in a similar situation. They seemed to do all right!!
April 24, 201610 yr Let's just hope in 12 months time we are all dog rough after celebrating our return to the Championship.

Not forgetting Big Sam and Peter Reid, if any of our kids get anywhere near the levels of these players we will be right. Edited April 24, 201610 yr by Mounts Kipper

Thompson would walk into our current midfield
April 24, 201610 yr The current crop of kids show much more promise than the 80's crop. Already there's talk of higher level clubs looking at Clough/Holding. Nobody wanted our 80's kids. We might be skint and in league 1 but I honestly don't see us sinking any lower
April 24, 201610 yr Literally. Id suggest it may be more of a stagger judging by the amount of time he spends in the Claremont Cons club on Westminster road.
April 24, 201610 yr money wise, we can afford to keep clough this information brought to you by the denton branch of the AHM

Agree with Rudge and Oghani. Steve Thompson and Warren Joyce were pretty capable midfielders and I really rated Steve Thompson in particular.
April 24, 201610 yr Thompson would walk into our current midfield And still be going twice as fast as the current lot
