Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Does anybody else suffer from this? I've had this for years now and it's not good!

I've tried keeping a mental note of certain foods and alcoholic drinks that can trigger my ibs, but that doesn't always work. My ibs is stress related, so I am pretty much screwed, as my job is stressful, so I just need to keep my symptoms under control. I've been taking Buscopan for a while now, which is pretty good.

I think Happy is ready to go to market with the patented "Wanderers Ways Magic Fix Anything Emergency Pack".

It includes:

1 x Pre-inflated bloon

1 x Novelty hand for pushing any object down a flight of stairs

1 x Fistmaster 5000

Are you sure it is IBS?

Coeliac conditions are often misdiagnosed as IBS, leading to years of needless suffering.

Have a colonic irrigation.

Eat riveta.

Stop taking it in the arse.

Cured.

Anyone on here had a colonic irrigation?

I fancy it, just to see how many kilos of undigested meat gets sluiced out of my nipsy

IBS doesn't exist.

Its just a bit of wind, it's a made up thing, like autism.

I used to get the shits every time I did some gardening. Finally went to the docs and he diagnosed irritable trowel syndrome.

Mind you, when he told me this he went "irrita - sneeze - ble - sneeze - tro - sneeze - we - sneeze - l syndro - sneeze - me - sneeze."

I asked him  was he was OK and he said he had irritable vowel syndrome (to save him sneezing again he wrote it down).

Whenever X-factor comes on tv I spew up. I thought I might have "irritable Cowell syndrome" but in fact it's just cos it's shit.

I've got Irritable Bastard Syndrome

None, unless you're basing your gastrointestinal knowledge on 'Beverley Hills Cop'.

Have a good swig of Lactulose instead, you'll shit out the remnants of your first Farleys Rusk...

I've got a friend that does it in Bolton, she inspects your 'King Richards' filtering through her machine and gives advice, fully qualified the lot. She does it with coffee too now, it's a bit more expensive but it's good for the blood by all accounts.

Have you been medically confirmed as suffering form IBS? If you have been positively diagnosed using The NICE guidelines for IBS 2008  then as Malc suggests you should have further tests to rule out anything else. These would include

full blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) or  plasma viscosity

c-reactive protein (CRP)

antibody testing for coeliac disease (endomysial antibodies [EMA] or tissue transglutaminase [TTG]

Then I would advise you ask your doctor to see and consult with a dietitian that specialises in IBS and not simply a band 5 dietitian.

Suffered for a while after a gut infection, not so bad now. Difficult to know what foods make it worse. Buscopan works.

Colonic irrigation is not good for anything - apart from improving the amount of money in the bank account of the person sticking stuff up your bum. It's unregulated - so you don't need a qualification to practise it and repeated studies have concluded that it is of no medical benefit. What's more - there's quite a lot of evidence to suggest that it can damage the way your colon works - impeding it's effectiveness in reabsorbing fluid and elaminating waste. Plus - you really don't want to take the risk of somebody puncturing your colon unless you're a fan of sepsis.

Most peooles colons do a magnificent and underappreciated job - whacking Nescafe up it does fook all other than cause problems.

What about sperm?

What about sperm?

Depends who's it is. Mine has special 'detoxification properties' which amongst other things helps with weight loss, anxiety and general malaise. I can administer it orally or rectally in selected patients who's suitability for treatment I can vet at my surgery. The standard charge is £150 but I can make exceptions for the most needy.

Basically I can bum women back to full health.

????????

I've always thought this, and you're a medical worker so it must be true

People just like the idea of shoving stuff up their arse by the sounds of it.
