  • Ah, those lads who wanted their country back , upset by foreigners who came over on boats pinching  all the houses and land and changing the native culture and not assimilating into it.  thought you

  • Benedict Cumberbatch played Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, he's not even a proper bummer.

  • Not quite a show… but the missus has fallen asleep mid program; I do it all the time, just watch on… she doesn’t agree. She’s now fallen asleep 3 times during last 10 mins of episode of Outlaws.

Watching it now. It's ok.

The 9/11 documentary tonight was superb.

You won’t get a bigger list of contributors than that.

How can watching 2 old blokes fishing be so entertaining, relaxing, funny, and heart-warming, all at the same time? It's just fucking brilliant. Nourishment for the soul. Like Detectorists, but real.

This. Half way through watching series 3 again and for some reason my series link hadn’t picked up series 4. Really looking forward to this. Everything you say about it Cheese

Hmmm, might look that up.

What got me thinking was when there was no trace of a single human body in the rural Pennsylvania crash site.

Lockerbie was bodies everywhere from a much bigger plane (so much more fuel) , a much higher altitude and having had a mid air explosion.

Interesting thing I read about Lockerbie was that two bodies were found still alive. And that someone reckoned had one of them received medical treatment sooner, they would have probably survived.

What was that on?

Did a job for a geezer who lived in NY at the time and he was telling me a lot of weird stuff had been going on for weeks beforehand, lots of power cuts for example.

He was English and lived with his Brazilian girlfriend, so maybe wasn't used to the NY culture but said things just didn't feel normal in the lead up.

Aye but that's just looking back and finding things to fit a narrative. As human's we're pre-programmed to find a story to tie things together, helps us make sense of a world where everything is random, we'd lose our tiny minds otherwise.

I remeber the morning of the tube bombs and being told to get off the tube at Green Park and making my way to London Bridge on buses and walking. Looking back now I was convinced it was like being in a disater movie film. In reality people where just complaining about trying to get to work, there wasn't smart phones so it was only about a hour later when I got to the office I had any idea what was really going on.

Regards conspiracy theories

I don't for one second believe anyone interviewed or associated with them was involved in some inside job

If explosives were involved in bringing down the towers and the other building(s) nearby, that was also a planned part of the attack

Just when you think you've seen and heard all you possibly could about 9/11, a program like "Surviving 9/11" comes along on BBC2 now, this is a hard, hard watch.

Just watched it. Seen countless programmes on 9/11 but that was one of the best. Emotional to say the least

Stephen. With Steve Coogan. Fucking hell. OK it’s not a documentary but….

Another bit of 9/11 porn on tonight. It's proper car crash telly. I cant stop looking

Aye ITV. Says its new. I wonder if theres still some footage I've never seen.  That one last week had a few bits that I'm sure I'd not seen before.

Same, I lap it all up and all the war on terror stuff after it as well. Couple of hunt for Bin Laden things saved from the last few days even though I've seen that many reconstructions of it that I could probably have done a job on that raid myself now.

I'm watching. Was 14 when it happened and remember coming home from school and seeing it on TV thinking it looked like a film

This "9/11 Life Under Attack" is probably the "best" one I've seen yet

An as it happens time lime made up of "amateur" filming, ie folk and service people filming and watching it as it happens around lower Manhattan

Better than Cloverfield anyway
