Slow starter but well worth sticking. Thanks again. Aye we enjoyed this. Lead character was excellent as was his Syrian (?) side kick. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted June 17, 2025 Posted June 17, 2025 The Narrow Road To The Deep North is apparently now on iPlayer but can't find it. Nor on Amazon. If anyone stumbles across it, please let me know. It was a brilliant book and everyone in my family read it with my grandpa being a Japanese prisoner of war working on the death railway which the story covers. Quote

You'll need a VPN or dodgy firestick. BBC Bought the UK rights and plan to show it later in the year. Edited June 17, 2025 by Traf Quote

Persevered and watch it until the end, but by the Christ I found it hard not to bin it off. Like so many Netflix shows it's several episodes too long and therefore comes across as slow and plodding right up until the last couple of episodes. All at bit 'meh' for me.. Quote
miamiwhite Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 Yes, the original version is much better and much shorter too Quote
Ani Posted June 30, 2025 Posted June 30, 2025 The Residence on Netflix was enjoyable. 7/10 from me 8/10 from my missus. Quote

Not in Crawley Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Latest series of the Bear is out. Hope it's better than the last, mind you that was still better than 90% of things on TV. Quote
