I don’t know barrows players other than Rooney but I imagine they don’t have great records yet they just won a league which if we are honest is probably not that much weaker than the one we are going into.

im sure those Oakland Athletics fans werent impressed by many of Billy Beans signings until they saw them in their team. Think its going to be the model unheralded players who"s stats, age etc add up. weve been spoiled by first few signings but we cant be splashing money on everyone

I look at Sheffield Utd signings and usually think wtf, similar with Burnley but a good manager who’s done his homework makes it work

You asked how many 23 year old goalkeepers have a good cv, I answered you, never mentioned them coming here.

He might be great...just his CV doesnt support that view

There will be plenty 2nd choice keepers who good quality, that just cant get a game, they just need a break at a lower level.  Just trust his judgement (although I'd still love to see Matthews or Lonerghan come back as they definitely have the ability and right character).

Would imagine him to be a back up keeper on  very little.

Tallest dwarf competition really, literally. Very good player now for sheffield wednesday, but I don’t remember him doing much for us and the point I was making was he played with others around him of similar build and we got bullied week in week out.

I think you're right but I think that also shows how he's not anything especially magical or even half-decent. Behind a shit defence most keepers would've let a few in and so let's not wed ourselves to him and worry if he moves on.

always thought howard were better than alnwick , that hoof for the goal verses forest was unbelievable. once alnwicks head went we were 'stuck' with remi.

There are plenty of decent keepers available on a free for our level now, Howard is ok, but I reckon we can get better for lower wages imo.

Agree with all of that.  Too good for us where we are now.  Compared to someone like De Gea,  Pickford or Lloris, keepers you just cant rely on, I'd have him every time.  Lonerghan in a similar vein, humble and you dont have to worry about them dropping a clanger.

I thought Howard was really terrible.  No presence, didnt seem to communicate, not tall enough, kicking terrible (remember at Oldham in that must win game when he kicked it into touch about 10 times running?).  Just didnt make saves, as bad a keeper as we've had for me.
