We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Kenny turned us down before so doesn't really want to be here so why go back in for him?

No idea. Not my preference.

Maybe O'Neil come back in and told him he's not got a place, they've just signed a new Czech lad upfront as well.

Don't know if it's loan or permanent, not fussed either way. It's very underwhelming.

Fixed it for you

I agree it is very underwhelming if it is true.

Didn't celtic want a million in summer for Kenny and we had offered 500g or somet like that.

No better than Dion's record was.

Agreed, scoring record not a lot better than Charles although I'd say Hardie has shown he can play in the championship not just L1.

But yes, both scored plenty of goals over the years, I'm not saying he's Haaland or even that he's been better than Charles, but probably as prolific as anyone that will move today.

True. If he's not fit for another 5/6 weeks though then we're only looking at 10 games at best for him to try and get some rhythm not inc Play offs. Probably not the end of the world tbf.

I'm not sure I get the panic about bringing in a striker.

Get Dalby and Burstow some proper service with these new lads and there's enough goals there for me.

I think we need two full backs to be honest

Yeah, I've thought the same to be fair, with the signings we've made we'll only be starting one of them, not really understood the mad scramble unless it was for a massive upgrade.

I'd like to see Burstow with these wingers and a proper 10 behind him, personally.

Only my take on it but I think if a striker needs chances to be created for him, he's not going to score enough goals.  He needs to have more to his game than that.  For a start, we've had about 100 corners this season (I'm guessing) and it would be useful if one of our big CFs could get their head on 1 or 2.  And the bottom line is they aren't very good at shooting, they can't expect crosses to be rolled across the 6 yard box for them to tap in every week (that did happen once for each of them, Burstow v Plymouth and Dalby at Peterboro).

It's funny how things work out, if we signed Kenny in the summer when we chased him for so long when he was scoring pre season against the likes of Newcastle we'd all be buzzing yet 6 months on Celtic fans say he's one of the worst strikers they've ever seen albeit in a circus of a season for Celtic. I'm frustrated with the way the striker deal has gone it looks like we've not managed to sign our #1 target we've chased yet again but I'm kind of glad the backup plan is somebody we've really dug into as it seems less of a panic signing. Kenny is not proven at all & a gamble but he's a different sort of striker to Burstow/Dalby so he could offer the pace & pressing we've missed since Dion. Downside is it also seems Kenny has missed the last two Celtic games through injury, is he ready to come in and play?

Bottom line is that it is a lack of goals that is chief reason why we are slightly more distant from the top two in terms of points gap than we would like. That will be why they want another striker rather than the numbers game - especially with Forss out.

For me money, despite the fact our defence has held up well (lowest conceders in the division) we need one more back there because cover looks pretty thin. Taylor and Conway both out on Saturday exposes that.

Fingers crossed both areas are bolstered over the next four or five hours.

You need 3 if some one gets injured your struggling nothing in the B team . you could play one striker 10 but I can’t see this lad from Brazil being up to speed that looks more long term with it being a Permanent

Burstow scored a perfectly fine goal from a corner that got disallowed only a few weeks ago.

If you just count games Dalby's started this season and spread them over a full season, he's currently on for a 20 goal season. He can score, he just needs the supply, with a few others chipping in and we have our goals.

What we needed was a no 10, the players will pass to and can score too, we now have one.

SS wanted 2 in he said we know about the striker any news on the other player and what position?

That did look unlucky, a decent header, but if the keeper was fouled that presumably helped and it may not have come about otherwise.

It was just a general point though that strikers need to find a way to get their goals, I'm not saying its easy but if we had to go with Burstow and Dalby as our main scorers my opinion is we won't score enough, I'd love to be wrong because there's nothing wrong with their effort or attitude, but all the evidence to date is they aren't natural scorers.

Brandon Williams ex red shite looks like he's getting his contract torn up at hull (only 6 months left and hardly played this season) worth a shout at left back for cover?
