I do hope we have plans "B" and "C" in motion.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

It's possible it's a negotiation tactic, especially if other clubs are interested

But I've thought for a while the biggest obstacle to signing Kenny might be Kenny himself

If it is the case he's decided to stay then he's going to have to do something miraculous to turn things around up there because their supporters seem to genuinely hate him

Hopefully not all our hopes are pinned on Kenny, as it appears on this forum. We need a lot more than Kenny.

I find a lot of Parky's detractors often know the least about him

He wasn't at the start of his managerial career when he joined us as he'd already guided Colchester United from League One relegation candidates to promotion to the Championship, got Bradford City promoted to League One, a League Cup final whil in League Two, and an FA Cup quarter-final

He got us promoted at the first attempt while under a transfer embargo and then kept us up the following season as the club began to crumble

Wrexham might've had a cash injections but people go on as if three consecutive promotions and a seventh placed finish in the Championship in four years is a piece of piss

He's just a very, very good football manager with a track record of success at most of the clubs he's worked for

Spot on

I like the guy a lot.

Hope the gets the chance to manage in the prem. Be interesting to see how he does if so.

A comment from an ex wiggin manager and this quickly turned into jonny kenny saga 2.0 . None of us know if kenny was even plan a , some folk need to recognise there are other strikers who score goals.

Yes the majority of us would like him but its far from the end of the world, I cant bring mesel to look on twitter but am guessing there are suicidal muppets on the verge of returning their season tickets.

Max Dean not in the Gent squad

I think the quote is worthwhile sharing, Maloney is directly addressing the status of the player, and one that’s been mentioned in several media sources.

Personally I’m not overly fussed if we miss out on a player that’s had a serious knee injury and isn’t fit.

Well at this stage in the year those things are often significant and we know we've put a bid in already.

Aye more a share than an opinion on this.

Fwiw and it maybe of no worth, I was told that Kenny has had trouble "fitting in" at Celtic, and this was not much to do with his ability as a football player, which makes you wonder what has actually gone on.

As far as this year's transfers I think the board are being cautious they know it will be a struggle this season to stay up and don't want to get us stuck with high wages bill if we go down it's all about keeping the club stable and not getting into the position we were in previously , it's a fine balancing act building a squad to be competitive and not putting us in debt but I believe the management are all working together to make it all work out it just takes time and we will get there!

Somet in this. The other night was the first time in 9 months the lad had been on the bench and not come on.

Max Dean not involved today with Genk due to transfer issues

This being the Shaun Maloney who also managed Wigan?

Yeah mate

I don't think clubs in the Championship really thought it through when they voted on the new rules

Possibly not but I think we’re feeling it too trying to move out players like Taylor and Randall and probably McAtee who are on too long and expensive contracts. I can understand the club being nervous on new deals but it is what it is and unless we’re prepared to compete we’ll be in trouble.

Parky was shit. Our wage bill was astronomical when we went up. He struggled with that. A promotion is a promotion and all that but those 2 championship years were a disgrace. Add to that he’s a fanny and proven from player testimonials. Disappointing as I was happy to get him. He goes in one of the worst. The football was turgid. Releasing le fondre at half time at Leeds. He’s in my bottom 5 easy

I lean towards this.

Perhaps not as heavily, but Wilbraham made some interesting comments on one of those pod casts.

Players - particulaly players who aren't playing - whinge all the time

Parky's record suggests he gets many more things right than wrong

Maybe, maybe not but by the fck his football was turgid.

Burton always sticks in the mind. Cor Blimey that was bad.

And christ he got away with that Forest game.

His CV is amazing mind. Funny old game.

He was never a disciple of tiki taka but we were operating under a transfer embargo and he got the most out of the resources he was working with

We tried to be a bit more expansive with the only No. 10 we could afford - Oztumer - and it was even worse

Anyway, it's been and gone

That's because he was 5ft3 and we were trying to punt the ball to him

Yes, we couldn't really afford a team capable of playing the way he needed

And, to be fair, it was also because he was shit
