FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Aye you're probably right Just seems strange we were so quick at first. Seemed like there was a proper plan.

I reckon some funding has been pulled mid-window or summet.

not at all, imo

we didn't rush to release, we had a matter of days to do it once the play offs finished

everybody else had already had to make their decisions

there is a halfway house and its the one forss is in...ie playing til he gets a deal from someone, be it us or A N Other

in effect,

right desmond, we don't want to offer you anything at this stage cos your wages are massive and we hope we can do better for less

keep hanging around on the off chance by all means, but be ready for us to decide theres no offer

hmm, let me see, nah, i'll be offski, thanks

fwiw, i suppose he may yet end up back if he lowers his wage demands....assuming ive not missed him getting fixed up

I just think we've underestimated the fees required to buy players in this window. It does seem to have spiked rather sharply

Or Agents are just trying it on hoping clubs will fall for it. Then as the market develops they will return to more affordable levels.

There must be a million Bolton fans on Social Media who think they are experts on contract negotiations that would have spunked our budget on players based on World Cup highlights.

Very much a sellers market at the moment

which is where I think Tutu (mentioned above) is at

no way is he not worth a deal at 95% of the third tier and probably a fair few higher

yet, still no club

Yeah I agree with that.. I should caveat it by saying some clubs aren;t hanging around, so sellers will think they hold out longer.

The danger is that if you can't sell anybody, you can't anybody.

Boro were lucky that Everton were desperate to sign their midfielder. They've been able to manoeuvre

Im concerned about the comment that the players think we are not good enough , They should be getting ready to run through walls and rip up trees .

When we went up to the Prem under Big Sam , the squad wasnt really good enough and in that close season we brought in , Southall , Pedersen , Diawara & Nishizawa .

Yet we had a storming start due to enthusiasm , adrenaline, grit and determination . Reinforcements arrived bit by bit and we had a good January window .

I would expect the players now to act simarlarly with the buzz of playing in a higher league and being on the crest of a wave or whatever.

However the fact that we are still trying to bring back ACD & kenny gives me a lot of hope and they would both be a big marale boost to the team .

Was thinking the exact same ting 👍

Players made up the difference in ability by running their blood to water every game.

Not sure I've seen a team work so hard , was outstanding.

I would have Tutu back, but only with ACD in front of him.

I thought they worked together really well.

I would have ACD back with or without Tutu btw. 😎😂

Could play a full back 4 or right backs then

I’m sure Schuey would love to send Charlie out on loan as he no doubt would Ritchie and Temple, probably even McAtee but the lack of incomings is also affecting outgoings as we can’t move players out until replacements come in. From the sound of it we won’t know on either ACD or Kenny until right at the end of the window and their own situations are sorted out but even then there’s no guarantee either will come here if we’re outbid by other clubs as it seems we have been already on some prospective targets. Are Kenny and ACD really that essential to us that we risk missing other options by waiting too long?

I think we can probably send Warren out before bringing anyone in

At least if we'd kept Tutu on we'd know which players we're in for

Forss not staying, off to a move abroad, according to Nixon

We can do better, he's too much of a risk IMO.

I'd wager SS doesn't rate him, or he'd have signed him weeks back.

Might have been tempted but just not seen what he wants from him.

No way we are letting both Temple and Inwood out on loan without signing a new central defender.

This and the purported new on Forss leads me to believe new signings are imminent.

Call me an optimist but....

I have been telling you all Summer that squad is not good enough and as late as a week ago i said i would like to see up to ten moved/Loaned on.

The board have not backed SS since appointing him but now have three weeks to make it right. Not finding that extra 500k last summer i think cost us the title and now 1m for Kenny seemed a snip. Think the club is lucky to have both SS and Harkin and i think the Board have been brilliant for the club but for me it is time to pass on the Baton before lack of funding see both SS and Harkin walk and we once again go back down the leagues. No one is asking for 10s of Millions but enough to give us a fighting chance. I am certain we will improve the squad before Sep1

Tbf you tell us a lot of things as if they are fact that turn out to be utter bollocks

I'd have Tutu back whoever else is here. We arguably don't have a championship standard LW, RW, RB or RWB currently. He can cover all 4 of those positions adequately, I think his versatility has played against him ("we need a better RB for the championship" when he isn't even a RB), but his ability to play anywhere on either wing is underrated for me, I'd love to have him as a squad player. Although I can't blame him for wanting to nail down a position somewhere that isn't RB.

The Forss thing isn't really news I don't think. Someone on here (sorry, I forget who) said at the start of pre-season they'd been told by someone at the club that he was just training with us while he was waiting on a move abroad. Seems it was always the plan.

New signings are definitely imminent though, in the sense that we're without a doubt going to sign players before Preston.

SS said there won't be any before this weekend's match

Hopefully there'll be some early next week though
