Yeah I don't think anyone would have succeeded in those circumstances, it was a shitshow at the start. Agree about the Accy game.

Keith Hill is not a bad pundit on Manc Radio I thought he was a dirty red but he seems quite fond of us. He had no chance of success with us at that time tbf.

Never understand what he was thinking that day one nil up conceded a penalty straight red centre half gets sent off and instead of taking a striker off we played we played with one centre half and conceded 7 .

Apart from that game I think the guy is alright amd like is commentary

He was quite keen on moving Bridcutt to CB and iirc he did it that day but it just left us exposed in midfield

I do think folk only focused on the negative (rambling interviews etc).

Given the restrictions, and impossible job of making us an attractive proposition to sign for, he made some good signings and gave us some reasonably entertaining games. Deservedly drew home & away v Sunderland too.

Massive exaggeration. Managed Barnsley in the championship, we can't claim managing BWFC in financial dire straits on minus 20 points or whatever is the best job he had. If got the job when SS got it, fair enough, but he got poisoned chalice.

Considering he put a squad together in a day and had to get them playing together immediately he didn't do badly, at least early on. Was unlucky also with Bridcutt's injuries, he was a decent and pivotal player.

He seems happy with what he's doing these days but there'd be a role for him I'd have thought in talent spotting and development, he was red hot at it at Rochdale. Ones like Morley, Callum Camps, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Ollie Rathbone and Andy Cannon all came through there under him and have all had solid careers.

He got Thomason from Longridge Town; would definitely say that's his forte
