is Hardie an upgrade on what we have?

Stats are rather underwhelming..

No idea, but after a quick look I reckon he's scored more EFL goals than the rest of our squad combined.

I honestly think if we are going to push for promotion Morley has a role to play. Not saying he will become Gerard overnight but lot of games to go and we will need the squad to step up and Morley can definitely do a job.

I think if there's a fee to be had that eclipses what we paid for him, he'll be off

That's our business model now

He can go for me anyway, not arsed

I think Morley’s an ok player. He’s not developed in the way I thought he would. I genuinely thought we had signed a player who had a realistic chance at playing in the premier league, but he just hasn’t really developed. Maybe that’s our fault.

Sometimes he looks really good, others completely anonymous and can never seem to hold down a regular spot.

A decent fee and he’s another one who can go. As said above, this is our model now. We have to sell players at a profit where possible and I think we’re quite well stocked in the midfield department

He’s a good player who can tackle, has a good range of passing and decent dead ball, but he has no finishing ability which is what we lack.

Only Dempsey can finish amongst our midfielders, Simons is a side footer and Erhahon wouldn’t even think of shooting so if we’re ever going to start getting a range of players to chip in with goals we need more from them.

Yeah I think on the whole you’d have to say he’s been a good player for us and certainly a good signing considering the number of appearances made and potential fee, for the money we paid for him.

Happy for him to stay, equally happy for him to go if he puts some money in the bank.

After recent comments I’m becoming more and more convinced that this window is more of a fat trimming excercise as I think we’re over subscribed and Schuey hinted at that being a factor behind recent form. Unhappy players who can’t see a route in. Reduce the squad size a bit, give every player a clear pathway and hopefully the can refocus and performances pick up again.

I’ve just posted a thought on a slightly different role for Morley, in the Stevenage thread. Then I looked on this thread, to see this discussion! Feel free to critique my post on the Stevenage thread.

He's bang on at this level.

Never quite got going in the Champ. Injuries haven't helped and Wrexham wanting better players.

Was bob on at Plymouth.

Yes and we were told there had to be route opened up for B team players in the summer which didn’t happen . Jan window we were told about out comings to trim the squad and a couple of incoming which as already happened

Got double figures in his 2 championship seasons, for a team relegated in the 2nd season.

Only played 5 times this season in a team that doesn't play to his strengths.

The injury to Forrs may force us to buy / loan another player (though Sharon doesn’t want us to be paying any more money out)

Why doesn’t she want to pay anymore money out

Because we've an already inflated wage bill and set of outgoings clearly.

We will need to shed some to get some I'd imagine.

Because we have none.

This finance thing is well overblown.

They're just not prepared to throw silly money at players and wages without releasing some first.

We aren't Birmingham or Wrexham.

Can we not send Forss back or are we stuck with him until the end of the season?

Usually when injured players return to parent club if injury is season ending.

They're not even Swiss.

But turning the tap off and not continuing to throw silly money on wages and players like Randall are different.

The sqauds full to bursting and up until recently had lads like Cogley and Randall on decent wages not even getting a game.

We are still paying for Evatts spending.
