gale did quite well last week at actually putting some balls into the box

if he can manage that on a regular basis will give more opportunities to Dalby

of course that require Gale to be good enough for the championship too

And Gale is fucking dreadful.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Let's give up now then, lads.

Nobody's saying that are, they?

Seems the knock off point is noon today to bring players in for the Preston game,

Iles has written that Gent want £3.5m for Dean. If that's right we may as well stop talking about the whole scenario.

Bit strange that . his manager has already said dean wants to return to england then they price him out of a move ? You could have a very unhappy player sulking on the bench running down his contract .

Maybe pricing out of a move to us, but possibly not someone else. You’d imagine given his profile £3.5m is probably the going rate.

Think this was Harkins masterplan crumbling for Dean..

Get wind of a player unhappy abroad.. make a cheeky offer.. They'll be happy to unload him and get money back before his head goes...

Other teams with more money get wind of it and are willing to pay more.. so Gent know they can get more now..

Hence him "missing the plane"..

That missing the plane was a joke on Twitter or here I think

Either way it didn't happen, they've realised they can get much more.

Fair point but that in itself is a bit worrying if the going rate for a player not many had heard of and was playing league 2 a couple of years ago , is ca £3.5 mil

I've decided this season that i'm not going to make a judgement about a single player until 10 games in - whether good or bad.

We're bad for writing off players so early ala Dalby last year.

Also for hyping up playing so early ala Simons last year or the polish full back years ago, think it was Alioski or something like that.

I'm witholding any judgement for as long as possible

Kenny or Dean will sign it’s Gent playing silly beggars no way is he going for 3.5 million I’d rather spend 2 mil on Kenny than Dean.

Aye.

It's OK saying 3.5m is peanuts in this league, but it isn't for a player who hasn't played at this level in England.

May have done well abroad, but still a fair chunk for a relative unknown.

Who's since gone on and done it in a European Top flight and European competitions...

Don't disagree btw but just look at the prices paid by Bristol City for example - Tolaj £4m and Ballard £5m and we shouldn't be surprised.

And to put a positive slant on this. Two players who have played against our L1 back line and not scored, despite their good records.

I'd argue that the squad as it stands at the moment is worse than the one we had in February.

Discuss 😁

I would go the other way, think Dean being younger, English and scored regular goals at a higher level than Kenny has would edge it for me that Dean would have the higher resale value if nothing else.

Dean at 2.5 too3m would be a good signing in today's market

We have offered 1 they want 3.5

Meet somewhere

They'll get £3.5m for him if other teams are interested. The £1m offer we sent seemed way too low for a striker who's been scoring goals at a decent rate for a few seasons and is only 23.

Squad looks on its arse compared to what we had in Feb.

Shouldn't be starting the season in a league above with it being in this state and struggling to cover positions regardless of excuses.

Still don't reckon we'll lose tomorrow. 2-0
