You have to speculate and take gambles with young players and whilst we haven’t been exactly good at it in the past hopefully we now have both the recruitment and training environment to improve it. The next couple of years will tell us a lot so let’s just hope we’ve got it right this time? At least if we can stay in the Championship anyone we do find should go at a decent price unlike L1 and L2.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

What do you consider 'real money'? 1.2M for Thomason after signing him for nowt? If not, then it's probably Madine back in 2018

If 1.2 million is the best profit transfer we've made, no wonder we've no money.

I still scratch my head thinking we sold Madine for that much???

I swear it was money-laundering.

When was the last time we made real money in a transfer.

Charles, GT, Dapo off top of head in recent years

prior to that - Holding, Clough and Madine if we're talking about millions

From memory only Madine, possibly Holding brought in decent money, the others were small fry.

Holding was 2m

Clough about 3.5m

Memories fading, 3.5 for Clough. ??

Zach Clough is 31 now 😵‍💫

Still regret selling a reluctant to leave Cloughie and wonder how his career would have gone had he stayed? Never know now but such a shame.

When talking about selling players, you have to take into account that we spent fortunes on shit with no resale value when we got relegated. Then the club was on its arse for about four years and unable to turn down a decent bid for anyone. And then chuck in a few mad decisions like giving Dapo away on the cheap because he didn't fit the system, but buying half a dozen number 10s.

Basically, as prices in the EFL have inflated we've been a shambles. But if a few of our players can have good seasons at this level their value will go up dramatically. Gale probably doubled his in the first half today.

SHE

you Asked a FLATDICK about Football

To be fair the last 2 times I asked her about new signings (that seemed a bit past it) she said we'd grow to love their characters and impact.

We've signed a lot worse than Bob Taylor and Paul Robinson but wouldn't have signed them if a lot of (male) Bolton fans had it their way.

Meantime we've got chaps on here saying McAtee is shit and Conway's never a full back 🤣

No Kenny in the Celtic 20 for this evening's match.

Maloney said he was fit last week.

Can see us bringing 2 more strikers in yet. Still think Kenny might happen.

Plus the sell on clause…

Brighton played Bologna in friendly today. ACD was in a squad of 24 but never got on the pitch.

We still need one striker for sure.

I previously said 2, but if McAtee can play like that consistently, then maybe we don't.

We haven't really splashed big (relative) money yet, and I suspect that such a spend will be seen on a striker.

Not sure where they in terms of WC players being upto full fitness and if they are resting players as they are playing Europe mid week and then EPL next week

We need 4 forwards really excluding wingers.

We have 3 with Dalby, McAtee and Hardie. and then add RR into the mix..

Wouldn’t have Rodrigues in that group tbf, very much in the midfield group

Certainly space for another striker, and Kenny would certainly give a bit of balance

Famewo now can be regarded justifiably as in the mix to play at CB, as well as LB.

So we've gone from having 3 CBs a couple of days ago to:

Forino, Davies, Brunt, Toal, Famewo and even Christie in an emergency.

It's a good stock now. I think we always knew Famewo was capable of playing there and I think he's on record as saying it is his preferred position. If he plays there often the immediate thought is that only leaves Conway as LB... but of course Brunt can play there too. Some good flexibility has been built in.

Am expecting chelsea to come in with a 20 million bid for gale this week after yesterday's performance !
