If they play well again, brilliant. If they don't, chances are last week was the anomaly. And they won't get as many chances from SS as the likes of Sheehan or Dalby will, because they don't have the same credit in the bank. This is their chance and they need to take it.

17 hours ago17 hr Shades of Peter Reid. All set for a £700k move in the late 70s (when the record was £1m) and got injured. Ended up leaving for £60k, returned to full fitness and won the league, cup and lots of England caps.

It's possible. We might need new players to do it, but it is possible and (especially at the start of the season) it shouldn't be an unrealistic ambition.

Extrapolate that to today where the record UK fee is Isak's £125m. ⅔ of that would be £82.5m. That's not peanuts. The sinful thing is that we took that money, added to it, and used it to buy Gareth Williams from Cardiff for £45k and Terry Wharton from Wolves for £70k. Madness.

You said if McAtee and Gale play badly at QPR, chances are last week was an anomaly.I'm saying if they play badly on Saturday, its no more significant than them playing well the week before, because we do a lot of playing badly away (as do PNE if last week was anything to go by).
